Juristic want's to ban weed possession in the building - are there other weed free condos?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I suppose they'll downgrade to try to prohibit smoking and try to get it passed. They've passed some stuff in the past that turned out to be illegal. Does anyone know of other weed-free condos? Can this be legal?

Due to the juristic person having received complaints from co-owners and residents about smoking cannabis
inside the building, resulting in an unpleasant smell, causing annoyance, and the smell of cannabis affecting the
health of other residents and children.
The juristic person therefore requests a resolution in the meeting to set measures for handling cannabis use
in the building in order to continue living together peacefully. The details of the management are as follows:
1. Prohibit co-owners and residents from using and possessing cannabis in The Whacky Condominium.
2. If an investigation and evidence of a violation are found to have actually been committed, a fine of 5,000
baht will be imposed.
3. If violators are found, the condominium juristic person can immediately take legal action (based on the Public
Health Act B.E. 2535 and its amendments (No. 3) B.E. 2560, Section 27 or Section 28).

    Makes a lot of sense.

  • Bunch of Karens. People have the right to enjoy the space within their condos. What's next? Criminalizing odorous stir fries?

Maybe don't have a giant 6 ft height ganja plant on your balcony.  How hard can it be.

That's not new. I've heard of that rule being cast in many Bangkok condos over the last couple of years. Honestly, I don't find it unreasonable. One needs to adapt. Vape or use edibles. Or go for a walk and smoke a joint in the Soi.

I was recently told by a cannabis shop owner that dry herb vapes are illegal in Thailand.

Pople do indeed have the right to enjoy the space within their condos...those who do not like the smell of other people's weed will be very happy that those who do cannot do so where it will impact that enjoyment.  My condo commitee/Juristic has banned the smoking (not possesson - that would be silly) of cannabis on the estate; I commend their stance.

I definitely want to move to that anti woke condo.

A few years ago you couldn't even smoke cannabis anywhere in Thailand without risking a serious jail term or a heavy fine. Now you can pretty much possess as much as you want and consume it in any way that you want without any risk. This whole issue kind of reminds me of the message being portrayed in this video:

You can use it inside your home. You can cook it, eat it. You just can't burn it to where the smell bothers your neighbors.

You'll get a different answer from every person you ask. But a dry herb vape is simply an oven. It doesn't contain any illegal chemicals like oils and flavorings as the THC and nicotine vapes do. It is technically a vape, but doesn't involve any of the reasons that the kinds of vapes, that mainly destroy the lungs of teenagers, were made illegal.

Also, THC vapes contain extracts that contain more than 0.02% THC, which are also illegal on that basis. What goes inside a dry herb vape isn't illegal.

All that aside, take a step back and ask yourself how many incidences have you heard of anyone being arrested or fined for cannabis use in any way since the law was changed in mid 2022? I can't think of one.

Bizarre comment.

What's your definition of woke? Anything you don't like, eh?

It seems to me trying to cancel people who want to enjoy LEGAL cannabis in their own homes is not really a woke POV from any rational perspective.

Banning durian in buildings is related to central air conditioning.

Condos generally have aircon within units.

Following is a full list of what they need to ban in all Thailand condos:

Durian

Fermented foods

Excessive garlic cooking

Deep frying

Smoking anything

Incense burning

Barbecue or grilling

Overuse of strong cleaning agents

Strong perfumes or room sprays

Animals with strong natural odors

Improper disposal of pet waste

Burning candles or scented oils excessively

Can also add wife beating to that list.

I missed that. Yes, possession definitely does go too far. I don't think legally they can even enforce that.

But they won't and you know they won't.

Why? The "morality" issue with weed compared to establishment drugs.

Weed stinks 100x worse than tobaco.  It really does.  It's just rank.  You pot smokers are just completely clueless about how bad it stinks.

I have no morality problems with it, but the smell physically makes me sick.

I call B.S.

What about cigars?

If  weed in a closed condo room makes you sick, you're a bit of a freak, and you support restricting the flippin' FREEDOM of the entire population to cater to you. That's disgusting.

BTW, I hate the smell of tobacco and asthmatic, yet I would never have the gall to be a SUPER KAREN about what other people do within their own homes.

Of course PUBLIC PLACES are a different kettle of stinky fish.

A completely revolting habit and smell. And so is cigarette smoke. The smell of burning cannabis can be nice when it isn't too strong. It kind of has a pleasant herbal scent to me.

Even though I vape, I still wouldn't want to be stuffed in a room full of heavy cannabis smoke either though. Basically all smoke is unhealthy to breathe in and I don't want to breathe any smoke that I don't need to. In fact, everyone should have the human right not to be forced to breathe in any second hand smoke at all if they don't want to. To me that right applies both in the home and in public places. Condos are semi-public places in the sense that it's basically a shared living space. If you don't want to live in that sort of communal living environment where you have to be mindful of others then you need to get yourself a house and you can smoke it up all you want.

Call me Karen, but I hate the smell of cannabis. I don't care if people smoke themselves to death, as long as I don't have to smell it.

Smoke your cannabis with doors closed. You have a right to smoke cannabis, but I also have a right to breathe fresh air. If your right takes away mine, it's not ok.

I had a problem with too much cannabis smoke (and cigarette smoke) on the beach over the last 3 nights. A lot of people were smoking it.

Do you think people will smoke weed in a completely closed condo? That's not going to happen because people who smoke also want to have fresh air.
