Unspoken

A little film with a big emotional impact and well-crafted plot surprises.

Quote

Jeremy Borison's 'Unspoken' is a brilliant coming-of-age film – The Forward

Marking his directorial debut, Jeremy Borison’s Unspoken is a lovely, delicately handled coming of age, coming out story centering on Noam (Charlie Korman), a young Modern Orthodox Jew. The film also touches on what happens when the memory of a beloved elder, now deceased, is tarnished and betrayed.

...

I was blown away by this brilliantly understated and deceptively simple film.

This is good talent. Worth a watch with clever twists in the story.

I watched "The Outfit" again last night as I was bereft of a good movie to watch and from what I could remember about it, I liked it the first time round.

So pleased that I did as Mark Ryland is superb in it and it has a few twists to keep you guessing.

Watched Electric State last night.  Reminded me why I need to cancel my Netflix subscription.

Slow pace, feeble dialogue and a woman who can't act playing a 'kid'.  The visuals are nice, but everything else sucked.  Avoid.

for Ted Lasso fans, I would watch Running Point, it is basketball related but the same fish out of water type comedy.

Searching through BBC iPlayer's newer offerings, I came across one called, "Expedition with Steve Blackshall" and thought I'd give it a go. Having done some exploring in the Sahara desert, the jungle of south-eastern state Nigeria and the waters offshore, also Whitewater rapid rafting (as well as Blackwater rafting) in NZ, I thought I might like it – – and I did, so I can recommend it.

Several episodes of around 50 minutes each on different expeditions around the world and IMO, well worth a watch.

Adolescence

Crime--Netflix 4 episodes  IMDB 8.4   This is worth looking at-- all out    Created by Stephen Graham --- Lead actor Stephen Graham

When a 13-year-old is accused of the murder of a classmate, his family, therapist and the detective in charge are all left asking what really happened.

Thanks for the heads up @oxo1947. Anything with Stephen Graham in is usually good IMHO.

Stuff i have watched recently and my opinion:

A thousand blows:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21874900/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

As expected was very good and can’t wait for season 2

Companion:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26584495/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Enjoyed this, pleasant distraction.

Paradise:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27444205/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

This started well, went a little slow but came back okay towards the end.

Ten pound Poms:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20318226/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

This started okay with an interesting premise but quickly turned into a run of the mill drama, gave up after 3 or 4 episodes, over the top characters with annoying tendencies.

Currently watching

Prime Target:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31186958/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk

Enjoying this, got a bit of a Da Vinci Code feel to it which will no doubt divide the room but so far so good imho.

Scouse crime tv drama, with Sean Bean.

Sean Bean--he has played in a lot of  tough guy roles  and many times along side Stephen Graham---

But I think the one that got the most viewer feed back (letters not all happy about the kissing)   was when Steve fell in love with Sean

Under the Bridge. About the killing of a 14 year old girl of Indian heritage by a group of her peers in a small town in Victoria canada. It takes about 3 episodes to really get going but ends up incredibly painful to watch. The sheer brutality and despair is overwhelming.

This was well posted here last year - it’s a good one! well worth a view if you missed it.

For TV shows, I love Trailer Park Boys. It’s just my kind of humor—absurd, ridiculous, and somehow still relatable. The characters are unforgettable, and the show has this unique charm that makes it so addictive. There’s just something about the way they portray life in the park that keeps me coming back.

As for movies, I don’t watch many, but I’m a big fan of documentaries. I love watching autobiographical documentaries or ones where I can learn something, like World War II, true crime, etc.

But honestly, Trailer Park Boys just doesn’t make any sense. I watch all the seasons every day while I work. I must have watched all 12 seasons at least four times this year already.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who knows about this Canadian masterpiece.
