Never watched the acclaimed 2007 TV series, (8.7 IMDB) "Mad Men" before, so thought I'd give it a go. Got as far as episode 3, series 1 before wondering if I wanted to persevere with the full seven series. It has it's moments but it's starting to come across as a bit of a soapie.

Persevere. It's one of the best series ever series, along with 'Better Call Saul', 'The Sopranos' and "Six Feet Under'.

Yes, those who think it’s a soap or a drama kind of miss the point. I was sitting there at the end watching the two in the pond (trying to not spoil it) .. it’s a dark comedy. I kind of forgot what happens in S02, S01 was awesome, especially the last episode, the hotel manager character taking a dump in a suitcase, that character was great, I was thinking to revisit.

I have to admit I was disappointed in the ending. I was hoping they'd be able to pull all the separate strands together but the ending felt rushed and too contrived. Plus, I felt Rick needed more of a back story in order to make sense of what he was doing. He complained that his life had been ruined but he was staying at the White Lotus so he couldn't have been doing that bad. The Russians just dropped out of the picture and Gaitock, the world's worst guard, suddenly acts completely out of character? Oh, well.

I just re-watched the entire Season 3 of WL - so much complex signalling and crucial omens.  Such great writing, acting, directing, photography and music.

I gave up after E2 started. What dross in my opinion.

Won't be everyone's cup of tea, but for any dads out there this is a very moving and sometimes difficult watch.  Superb performances from the two leads and amazing use of music.

TG is no more, and hasn't been for a few weeks now.

That is not the original TG site, some of those movies/TV aren't even released for download yet. There is also no torrents for books and music that the original had. Pity it's gone as it was the best IMO.  I am now using both Pirate and 1337X as torrent sources.

Thanks for telling him off. Movie suggestions and dumb political crap are separate forums for all of us here

I must have missed something, as didn't read anything 'foul' or 'political'.  No different than stating watched 'JFK' or 'X' or whatever possibly documentary or mockumentary and getting a different opinion of MSM's version that was pushed.

All the political, 'woke' & PC comments about movies & series, and y'all find that one OTT.  I thought it was informative, and now may even give it a watch.
