Just started Friends and Neighbors---starts slow but watchable---  after getting the sack and living in an upmarket area, decides maybe robbing his  Friends and Neighbors---might be a way to finance himself

he will arrive late find one family member dead and a wet patch but no body. If you have watched ep 6 you will understand

a new series - always interesting - it seems to have moved on from the actual waves of nazare in series of 1 and 2 - now, amongst other stuff, long term effects of big wave surfing in e01.

I just dusted off my copy of Forrest Gump this week and watched it for the first time in probably 10 years.  I was on the floor laughing because so many of the scenes have become memes over the past decade or so. 

 

It was funny back in the '90s, but it's hilarious today watching those now iconic scenes.

Very interesting to watch the intricate machinations of the election of a new pope but the ending was like a joke.

The final episode of "The White Lotus" Season 3 is scheduled to air on Sunday, April 6, 2025. The finale will be the longest episode in the series' history, running approximately 90 minutes.

I started it because it was compared to 'Band of Brothers', watched only one full episode so far but It's nothing like band of brothers, probably wont watch the rest.

Slightly off-topic but this reminds me of an excellent book I once read. It was adapted for British TV in 1965 but, as yet, I can't find it.

Enjoyed it - Wartime part - certainly not the Bridge On the River Kwai look at the death railway.

Andor episodes 7-8-9

The last 3 will be released in a few days, then it's over.

 

IMO is the best of the Star Wars streaming series.  Certain Americans may take it as offensive.

That is still a good series but the rest of the Law and Order and Chicago series has gone way down hill over the last few years. SVU has become the Captain Benson show.

 

Fire is still OK but PD where they shout from across the road 'freeze' and take on the most mundane cases that would normally be handled by a constable on the beat, and the dreadful totally inaccurate 'med' where doctor doctor relationships and doctor nurse relationships is taking over and getting boring, actual medical stories are now fewer and far from reality.

The best, med series this year is The Pitt.

 

Nearly given up on the FBI ones as well, the one with Mr arm waving shouty is beyond hope, International seems to have gotten new writers and is now quite entertaining if far fetched.

Speaking as a native of NYC the "peak L&O era" was when Jerry Orbach was on the show.  He's the sort of smart-ass guy at the deli who keeps you laughing while he puts his finger on the scale.  There's a late-night comedian who says his son is somewhat obsessed with the Lenny Briscoe character, but I don't know if it is just a joke.

Couldn't handle SVU, all those "I feel your pain" expressions by not very good actors.  But then came Organized Crime and I was really impressed with Meloni's undercover Eddie Ashes character.  But I'm disappointed they took away the kinky hacker chick.  I'm waiting for that Irishman with the nasty dog to reappear.

Now there is L&O Toronto, which is more Sherlock Holmes -ish.
