Leavitt: Too big for her britches...with only 27 short years of questionable wisdom?
Dear Folks, Do you, also, find Leavitt a bit unsettling. She came on at her first press briefing asking: "How are we doing?" Sounded to me like a nurse speaking to a patient in the ICU. Does she lack the humility, due to lack of experience being alive among the living with real people, that this job might require? The best word one might come up with to describe her placement in her present position, and her, might be...OUTLANDISH. Something is off-key, maybe. Will she be completely tone-deaf, just due to her lack of time on Earth? In addition to the word, outlandish, what about the phrase "out of touch with reality"? Who chose her for this position? Is she is a child, playing with grownups.... How much longer can this charade last, do you imagine, before reality sets in, and we see her for what she is, just meaning her missing years? Something seems tinny and unreal. Maybe it is she. Just wondering if anyone else might get the same vibes.... Regards, Gamma -

Massive Fire Engulfs Plastic Warehouse in Samut Sakhon
Picture from responders. A large fire broke out at a plastic and rubber warehouse in Ban Phaeo District, Samut Sakhon, on the morning of January 29, sending thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Firefighters battled all day to bring the blaze under control. The fire, which started at approximately 10:55 engulfed the Maha Chok Mahachai Trading Company’s storage facility in Moo 6, Yok Krabat Subdistrict. The warehouse contained plastic waste, rubber materials, and scrap metal for recycling, all of which served as fuel for the rapidly spreading flames. Fire crews from multiple districts, along with emergency volunteers, were deployed to the site. The Samut Sakhon Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office reported that the inferno had already caused two of the eight storage buildings to collapse, prompting authorities to restrict access to the area for safety reasons. Provincial Governor Nirut Niramaiwong arrived at the scene alongside local officials, including the district chief and industrial regulators, during the afternoon, to coordinate response efforts. Despite intensive firefighting operations, the blaze remained difficult to contain due to the highly flammable materials inside the facility and burnt throughout the night. There have been no reports of casualties or injuries. Authorities are continuing efforts to prevent the fire from spreading further, and an investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway. -- 2025-01-30 -

Thai tax tangle: Expats warned of new rules on overseas income
But since the US does not participate in CRS, the Thai government is not receiving any info of my accounts in the US. Just reports my single Thai account to the US under FATCA rules. That account is now receiving only US social security money since the 1st of this year from my wife, underage child, and I. Way more than enough for our Thai needs and wants. Not special, just different. -
