The incestuous relationship between politics and Pharma continues

Joe Biden surprised me this week when he awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation to Moderna and Pfizer, an award typically given to individuals, but sometimes given to organizations. This decision further cements the current administration’s role as sell outs to the pharmaceutical industry.

Here I will give 10 reasons why this was a bad idea.

1. By awarding Moderna and Pfizer but not J&J and AZ, the current administration essentially admits that the adenoviral vector products were dangerous. Many young people died from these products and this administration, and many public health experts, lied about the risks of VITT. The mantra that the ‘best vaccine is the one you get’ was yet another lie perpetuated by this administration.

2. Moderna and Pfizer are corporations that have failed to meet the post market commitments. They have failed to study subclinical myocarditis. This conduct is shameful and they should be fined or worse. It also represents FDA failure.

3. These companies have already made 100 billion dollars from these products. Most of that directly paid for by the taxpayer. They do not need a medal.

4. The key sequencing of the virus was not done by companies.

5. The companies sell an annual mRNA product that has no reliable data. This product is given to babies. There is no evidence that it helps.

These are not the decisions of Biden, these are choices made by his handlers. Soros awarded for funding anarchy. Hillary awarded for subverting the executive office. Cheney awarded for election interference. Pharma awarded for scamming the masses. An overt pattern.

The development of the COVID mRNA vaccines produced by Pfizer and Moderna saved many millions of lives around the world, including several million in the U.S. alone, not to mention untold more who were spared from illness and hospitalization that otherwise would have  cost the U.S. more than a trillion dollars in health care and other costs.

 

If that feat isn't deserving of recognition by the U.S. government that helped spur on the development of the first mRNA COVID vaccines under Donald Trump's first presidency with Operation Warp Speed, then I don't know what is.

"It has been two years since the first COVID-19 vaccine was given to a patient in the United States. Since then, the U.S. has administered more than 655 million doses — 80 percent of the population has received at least one dose — with the cumulative effect of preventing more than 18 million additional hospitalizations and more than 3 million additional deaths. The swift development of the vaccine, emergency authorization to distribute widely, and rapid rollout have been instrumental in curbing hospitalization and death, while mitigating socioeconomic repercussions of the pandemic. We therefore used a computer model of disease transmission to estimate hospitalizations and deaths averted through the end of November 2022. The model incorporates the age-stratified demographics, risk factors, and immunological dynamics of infection and vaccination. We simulated this model to compare the observed pandemic trajectory to a counterfactual scenario without a vaccination program. See “How We Conducted This Study” at the end of this post for further details on our methods.

 

Findings

From December 2020 through November 2022, we estimate that the COVID-19 vaccination program in the U.S. prevented more than 18.5 million additional hospitalizations and 3.2 million additional deaths. Without vaccination, there would have been nearly 120 million more COVID-19 infections. The vaccination program also saved the U.S. $1.15 trillion (Credible Interval: $1.10 trillion–$1.19 trillion) (data not shown) in medical costs that would otherwise have been incurred.

Those really are three of the most obvious villains ever, as if to really insist and get the message through to the remaining doubters: yes, we are a nefarious, warmongering, self-serving clique and we just laugh at you plebs.

 

As I said several times before, the "Biden" character (who doesn't look a bit like Joseph Robinette Biden Jr) has been our greatest ally these past four years.
