At approximately 12:30 on 7 January, Pol. Lt. Thanakorn Suetrong, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Na Jomtien Police Station, Sattahip District, Chonburi, received a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the traffic light intersection at the entrance to Nong Nooch Garden on Sukhumvit Road, inbound to Sattahip.

The incident left one person critically injured. Rescue units from Wat Yan Sangwararam Hospital and the Sawang Rojanathammasathan Foundation responded to the scene.

At the scene, rescue teams found a 39-year-old Myanmar national, identified as Miss Thithioo, lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the road. Rescue workers attempted CPR, and the victim was rushed to Wat Yan Sangwararam Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. She had sustained severe injuries, including head trauma and broken leg and arm.

Miss Thithioo had been riding a blue-and-black Honda Wave 110i motorcycle (license plate from Chonburi), which was found damaged and lodged in the front of a white Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck (license plate from Chonburi). The pickup truck was driven by a 71-year-old woman, identified as Mrs. Kongpak, who remained at the scene to provide her account to police.

Mrs. Kongpak stated that she had been driving toward Sattahip when the motorcyclist abruptly made a U-turn in front of her vehicle, leaving her unable to stop in time, resulting in the fatal collision.

Police have confirmed that they will summon Mrs. Kongpak and eyewitnesses for further questioning to determine the circumstances of the incident and pursue legal action as necessary.
