A dramatic car fire broke out early on the morning of January 7, inside a residential carport in the Klong Kum district of Bangkok. The fire, which consumed a Volvo XC60 T8 hybrid, narrowly avoided spreading to the adjacent two-story house.

The incident occurred at around 08:00 at a property on Soi Seri Thai 59, located in the Bueng Kum area. Authorities received reports of smoke emanating from the carport of a private residence, prompting immediate action by the fire department.

Upon arrival, fire crews found the car fully ablaze, and efforts to extinguish the flames were promptly launched to prevent further damage to the home. The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes, with two water hose-lines.

The owner of the vehicle, 44-year-old Mr. Khajitsak Chalitaporn, reported that he first noticed a significant amount of smoke coming from the car. Moments later, the fire spread rapidly, and he immediately called emergency services for assistance.

Thankfully, the fire did not cause any injuries, and the carport suffered damage. However, the car was completely destroyed by the flames. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the fire.
