House Approves Sanctions on ICC Over Netanyahu Arrest Warrant

In a decisive move, the House of Representatives passed a bill on Thursday imposing sanctions against individuals enforcing the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Illegitimate Court Counteraction (ICC) Act passed with a vote of 243-140, supported by 45 Democrats alongside 198 Republicans.

All 140 opposing votes were from Democrats, including prominent figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

The legislation mandates the president to apply sanctions, such as revoking visas, against ICC officials pursuing Netanyahu, 75, and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, 66, in connection to Israel’s military actions against Hamas. "The ICC's decision to issue arrest warrants against the leadership of Israel represents the weaponization of international law at its most egregious," said Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), justifying his support for the bill.

Local Democrats including Manhattan and Brooklyn Rep. Dan Goldman, Queens Rep. Grace Meng, and Long Island Reps. Laura Gillen and Tom Suozzi also voted in favor. The only lawmaker present without voting was Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who expressed a desire for the US to avoid entanglements in foreign disputes.

In addition to targeting ICC officials, the act seeks to retract any taxpayer funding of the ICC, which neither the US nor Israel recognizes, having declined to ratify the 1998 Rome Statute that established the court.

This measure echoes a similar bill passed last year with a 247-155 vote, also primarily supported by Republicans and some Democrats, but which the Democrat-controlled Senate did not consider. The prior bill responded to ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan’s announcement to issue arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant for alleged war crimes in Gaza.

"We may not recognize you, but you sure as hell will recognize what happens when you target America or its allies," Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) asserted in support of the bill. He further argued that the ICC's actions against Israel had emboldened Hamas and prolonged the conflict, hindering efforts to release American hostages.

A step in the far right direction.

Anything you don't agree with is far right. What about the Dems that also voted for this Bill?

Nice. Show the Socialists we mean business. Page them if necessary. Its a new world and the Jew haters are going to find a new group to hate.

Black and White baby: Hamas is holding MY F******G PEEPS hostage. Hostage. Anyone who supports this ICC farce is a terrorist supporter and or facilitator and is anti American.

Have fun with your little emojis and insults. Ill laugh when the chickens come home to roost for y'all

The American House of Representatives did that. Maybe that should also be part of the headline.

As usual, for the powerful Americans, Jews and Israel can't do wrong - by definition.

And obviously that doesn't mean Jews and Israel are always wrong, certainly not. But whatever they do, the Americans will support them. And then somehow some Americans are still surprised that the rest of the world despises them.

The rest of the world despises them? Really? Since when does the US support everything they do? Pure lies.

But obviously they want law and order for all the others. It would be funny if it wouldn't be so sad.

Well said. It's sad.🧑‍🎄

It just gets better and better.

Israel should be lauded in their fight against terrorist states. Not persecuted.

Few people complain that Israel fights terrorists. The problem is the so-called collateral damage - tens of thousands of innocent people.

Your are forgetting that Hamas are the ones responsible for nearly all the deaths, you are forgetting Hamas uses the Gazan civilians as human shields and deliberate sacrifice.

Great news. Has the ICC indicted the Ayatollah,Assad the, leaders of the Pla, Hamas Hezbollah , the leaders of Qatar who help Iran finance the terrorists, the list goes on. No , just the leaders of the only democracy in the ME which was brutally invaded on Oct7.

Well done USA!

What a pity that neither the USA nor Israel are members of the ICC.

The ICC does not have its own enforcement mechanism and has relied on countries’ support for arrests. Israel, like the United States, is not a member of the ICC and has challenged the court’s jurisdiction over its actions in the conflict.

Neither country seems to have as many friends and/or allies as they used to have and they never will again, as long as in Israel's case, Netanyahu and his murderous war cabinet are in power.

In the case of the USA the Jewish lobbyists need to be removed from influencing the US government.

Sadly for the world this is unlikely ever to happen.

This is MY personal opinion only.

Anybody is more than welcome to disagree.

Blame the Jews again eh.....:saai:

Imagine that, Jews influencing the US Gov. Well then you had better also remove the Jews who are Senators and House of Representative Jews.

That conviction will be overturned on appeal. That'll really get you snowflakes wailing. Just take a moment to consider the future. 4 years of Trump followed by 8 years of Vance🥳🥳🥳Oh joy!

But innocent people get killed in all wars .

Can you name even 1 war where no innocent people got killed ?

Should this war be the only war ever that no innocent people died ?

The IDF are good, but they arent THAT good

Look up AIPAC.  It's an Israeli lobbying group and they're very effective.

Who does USA , China or the E.U or any other Country listen to when making choices and decisions ?

Why do you think that Israel should be subservient to the USA and let Joe Biden dictate to them ?

Biden isn't fit to run his own Country, let alone run other peoples Country
