I don't, but who would you choose? No country should have one person in charge. Many times history has proven a malignant narcissist or sociopath has been a leader, and chaos followed.

I would implement certain criteria for politicians. I.e. if they are constantly deliberately lying, then out!

And I would implement criteria for voters. If they are too stupid, uninformed and ignorant then they should have no right to vote.

Obviously, it would be very difficult to implement any of this. But it seems to be necessary. Otherwise especially American idiots will continue to vote for the biggest idiot who wants that job.

Not really.

Lot of idiots voted for an idiot.

And when a majority do that, then this is democracy.

I think they deserve what they voted for.

The problem is we, the rest of the world. We don't want that idiot to "rule the world".

It's' not really a democracy, though. It's a Republic. The current crop of "Democrats" would very much like to change that, though.  Because if they could, America wild be ruled by East and West Coast idiots, probably forever.  Wherever you are in the world, I think you'll find that, with Trump, the world will be a more peaceful place.  As President, he controls US foreign policy, and will have a lot to say about that, fortunately.

Or would you rather be ruled by the Globalist cabal of unelected people with nefarious intent?  Because that's what was in the works.

Apparently, the people in Greenland don't have a problem being part of the USA.  As for the people in Panama?  I don't know who gets the profits from the Panama Canal, but I highly doubt they're being distributed to everyday Panamanians.  A return of the Canal Zone to the US probably wouldn't make much difference to them. They might even be better off, with the return of some US military personnel to the area.

Whatever happens, I doubt it will happen by way of military force.

How many primary votes did Trump get?

Big fat zero ∅.

I'd happily become an American for that.

I don't know about the million dollar offer, but I did see a headline about "recent polling."  Not many people live there, right?  60,000 or so?

Some of us have been there and done that.  Sometimes people want to go on an adventure.  Explore the world.  Sometimes it's, nice not to have all the nonsense to deal with.  Here, I pay my rent, my electric, my water, and my internet bill.  That's it.  Once a year I file my taxes.  Life couldn't be much easier.  And when I want to travel, I pack a suitcase, book a ticket, and go.

I could go back to America tomorrow.  It's not hard.  Go online, buy a ticket, order a ride to the airport.  About 27 hours later, I'd be back.  I probably won't be doing that anytime soon, though.as  things are little chaotic there right now, if you haven't noticed.

So you saw a headline somewhere and concluded Greenlanders don't have a problem being part of the US.

I saw 2 headlines and have a different opinion.

Are they  ?

Everyone I know, tells me it's just another day, and little (except inflation) has changed much at all.   But, like myself, they don't live their life through divisive MSM.

Ones that still work, do that, enjoy their family, weekends with kids.   Retired folks get out & about as much as possible.

I was forced to take a year of Latin, back in the day. 1965, I think.  I also had to take another foreign language, so I took French.  The choices were French, Spanish, or Greek.  At This point, I forgot all the latin, but I can sort of still read French.

I am reminded of when the Brits used to say " To be born British is to win the lottery of life".

Apparently it sucks to be an American if you need pharmaceuticals to keep yourself alive.

And, if you recall those times, there were plenty of student protests, many protesting the Vietnam War, which scared the pants off the powers that be.

However, it has been said that after those in power witnessed the solidarity and push-back from students at the time, they made it impossible for this type of rebellion to happen again. They did this through piling on student debt, as one example.

Nah, the reason for the huge student support of anti-war protests was the US introduced conscription and all the kiddies were afraid they'd be sent off to die in a fight they had absolutely no interest in. Remember the catchphrase/ Hell NO we won't go!

No more conscription - no big protests. The Gaza protests were minuscule and were stomped on fast. No Yankee skin in the game.

Regarding this 'Democracy v Republic' debate. The US is BOTH. Democracy is the political process, the Republic is the outcome. The line that they're 'different' keeps getting trotted out anytime their nutty electoral system (the College) gets criticised. The American Republic = nutty Electoral College system, that's all. And that's an archaic throwback to their post revolutionary trauma.

The seeds of disaster lie in the US being a strictly Two Party system, which tends to divide the country down the middle and results in constant warring.

When a sane alternative voice attempts to be heard, they just get swept away, kicked to the gutter, because the Big Money is focussed on the two main factions to the detriment of all else, and NOBODY wins an American election without Big Money. That's why Elon is their God..

You are correct that there are no more protests over US army conscription in the US.

And, this is the main REASON why there are no protests.

Instead, the the army is mostly filled with soldiers that have no other choice, but to join the army, given that they are not able to find other employment that the would prefer, due to various inequitable reasons...given the nature of US society today.

IF service in US armed forces were EQUALLY BORN by a fair conscription, then .....maybe.....the USA would not have the manpower to go to war.

We need to get the conscription back, and make things fair, for all, not matter what class in society one might fall into.

This is obvious.

I would never wish to attend West Point....simply because....I would prefer either the Naval Academy on the Chesapeake or to be in New London, as I have always loved being a submariner.

This school is FOR ME.....!!!!

Although, I might be too old, now....

New London is a great place.

We had a summer house not too far away.

My mother drooled over these guys in their whites.....!!!!

It was her dream for me to become either a submariner or an orthopedic surgeon.

Not sure what her logic might have been...though.....maybe....

Why doesn't Donald Trump go to California and put out the fires? 🔥

Only Trump can solve all our problems, right?

Do you remember any fires in California when Trump was President?
