Trump 2.0 -- Exponentially more damaging than Trump 1.0
How can you be wrong on so many things? Maybe because you are a trumpie? Just to put you straight because you have difficulty comprehending this – – I have never been a Biden supporter per se and have always voted in the two countries in which I am a citizen, on the right of centre and I am definitely not a supporter of "woke" or LBGQT+ or anything else of similar ilk such as gender reassignment. And as for being a loser......not a chance: I don't know of any other 'loser' like me who started an investment fund with $100k seed capital and built it to just under $2 billion before retiring.......I'm afraid it is goobers like you who are the losers! What I don't like is a convicted felon, compulsive liar and a crook who is as dumb as a bag of rocks, in charge of the USA, although his goobers will love that because they have no scruples and are not too well educated (trump's own words). Perhaps I should take a leaf out of trump's playbook and refer to him and his family as the "trump crime family" because certainly his father was a racist and a crook because he funneled hundreds of millions of dollars to his son Donald, through tax evasion and tax fraud, and just like his father, Donald Trump is also racist and a crook. Then of course there is this....A charity operated by one of Donald Trump's sons flouts philanthropic standards by financially benefiting charities connected to the Trump family and members of the charity's board, an Associated Press investigation shows. In June 2018, then-New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood sued the president, his son Eric and daughter, Ivanka, along with the Donald J. Trump Foundation charity. Underwood wrote that: "For more than a decade, the Donald J. Trump Foundation has operated in persistent violation of state and federal law governing New York State charities. This pattern of illegal conduct by the Foundation and its board members includes improper and extensive political activity, repeated and willful self-dealing transactions, and failure to follow basic fiduciary obligations or to implement even elementary corporate formalities required by law. Then there is this against Donald trump Jnr and his younger brother Eric.....Donald Trump Jr and his younger brother Eric Trump have been ordered to pay a total of more than $8m for the fraudulent business dealings of their father’s sprawling real estate empire. Then there is trumps son in law.......In 2005, Kushner's father was convicted of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering, and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. As a convicted felon, Charles Kushner was also disbarred and prohibited from practicing law in New Jersey,[25] New York,[26] and Pennsylvania.[27] Republican Chris Christie, who chaired Trump’s first transition team, said Kushner committed "one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes" he prosecuted. So the trump crime family now have control and along with the South African Nazi, Musk, will eventually wreak havoc around the world. Som nam na. -

Ex-PM Abhisit Warns Legal Casinos Could Harm Thai Society
Picture courtesy of KhaoSod Former Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva has expressed strong opposition to the government's plan to legalize casinos and online gambling, warning of potential social consequences. Speaking at a recent seminar, Abhisit labeled gambling a major social issue causing harm to both individuals and families. The legalization initiative was part of the Pheu Thai Party's campaign for the 2023 elections, promising regulation and revenue collection from gambling. However, Abhisit criticized the lack of public discourse and clarity on other activities that might be legalized. Abhisit argued that online gambling, in particular, could increase household debt and crime rates, despite claims from the government that casinos would generate revenue and boost employment. He raised doubts about the potential employment benefits for Thai workers, suggesting that jobs might go to migrant workers instead. Abhisit also emphasized the need for strict law enforcement to prevent money laundering through these establishments. According to a survey from the Centre for Gambling Studies, over 50% of 8,000 people oppose the legalization. Director Nuannoi Trirat criticized the government for not holding a referendum on the issue. Despite opposition, the Cabinet approved a bill on January 13 to establish casino-entertainment complexes. The Council of State has 50 days to review the bill before it goes to the House for discussion. Pakorn Nilprapunt, Secretary General of the council, noted the government's urgency in fast-tracking this policy, sidestepping the need for a referendum given its parliamentary approval during the Pheu Thai campaign. -- 2025-02-10 -

Naomi Campbell to Advise Thailand on Global Fashion Aspirations
Naomi Campbell, left, talks to Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra about the possibility of helping develop Thailand's fashion industry at Government house in Bangkok, Thailand, Monday, Feb. 10, 2025. (AP Photo/Sakchai Lalit) Supermodel Naomi Campbell is lending her expertise to Thailand's burgeoning fashion scene. Discussions commenced on Monday with Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, setting the groundwork for Thailand to emerge as a formidable name in international fashion and for nurturing a new generation of supermodels. In a meeting at Government House, Campbell met with the prime minister to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at positioning Thailand as a fashion hub. This embassy intends not only to elevate the country's fashion industry but also to ensure representation of Thais on the global catwalk. Ahead of her meeting with the Prime Minister, Campbell held discussions with Surapong Suebwonglee, chair of the National Soft Power Development Committee, among other key figures. Her visit is part of a broader campaign spearheaded by former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. He has openly expressed a desire to see Thai talent, inclusive of all genders, make significant impacts on the world's fashion stages. Naomi Campbell’s involvement may prove transformative for Thailand’s fashion sector. Her experience and networks within the fashion industry are expected to be leveraged to propel Thai models and designers onto a larger stage. Campbell’s career, which spans over three decades, has seen her become a household name and one of the most recognisable figures in the fashion world. Her insights and mentorship could prove invaluable to budding Thai talent. The initiative aligns with Thailand's ambition to reinforce its soft power on the global front. Developing a world-class fashion industry would not only promote cultural exchange but also boost economic prospects. Fashion has been increasingly recognised as a catalyst for economic development; from manufacturing to tourism, its ripple effects are far-reaching. Financially, the Thai government appears poised to support this initiative, though specific funding details remain sparse. The Ministry of Commerce has previously estimated that annual revenues from the fashion sector could exceed THB 800 million. This move towards developing a fashion industry could potentially elevate this figure exponentially, offering lucrative opportunities for designers, models, and associated industries. While the concrete details of Campbell's role are yet to be outlined, her backing provides considerable gravitas to Thailand’s fashion endeavours. Whether through workshops, partnerships, or personal mentorship, her influence is anticipated to attract more international attention to Thai talent. As Thailand sets its sights on fashion innovation, Naomi Campbell's involvement heralds a significant step forward. By combining her global experience with local talent, Thailand is well-placed to stitch itself into the fabric of the international fashion arena. For now, all eyes remain on how this collaboration will unfold, as Campbell and Thai leaders continue to tailor a future where Thai fashion shines brightly on the world stage, reported Bangkok Post. -- 2025-02-10
