Russia’s economy is doomed
Thank you for that, but IMO AI robotics owned by the 1% will negate all plans, as most working class, and even middle class jobs will be eliminated. We are heading into uncharted territory, and society's real problem will not be an aging population, but unemployment. Perhaps it's time for WW3 to solve the population time bomb. -

Thai airline flight makes emergency landing in Phuket
Slightly made up journalism me thinks . There is no way they would tell the passengers they were going to make an emergency landing due to engine failure. They would just tell passengers to return to their seats and fasten seatbelts. Possibly even stating medical emergency as a cover story. -

Surprised it doesn't happen more often after chapter 11 and minimal maintenance to cut costs. -

Woman Killed as Crash Barrier Pierces Car in Chanthaburi
Pictures from responders. A woman was killed when a car crashed into a metal crash barrier, which speared through the vehicle and fatally struck her in the face. The male driver survived but was left with a broken leg. The scene took a chilling turn when he claimed a child was also in the car, though rescuers found no trace of one. Rescue teams from Sawang Katanyu Foundation were alerted to the crash, which occurred in front of the Toyota Centre on Sukhumvit Road, Khlong Narai, Mueang Chanthaburi. Upon arrival, they found a Nissan car from Bangkok with a metal crash barrier piercing straight through the front windshield and out the back. Inside the car, on the front passenger seat, was the body of a 39-year-old woman, Ms. Sirirat. She had suffered catastrophic head injuries, with part of her jaw missing due to the force of the impact. Outside the vehicle, the male driver was found with a broken left leg. He was given first aid before being rushed to Phra Pok Klao Hospital. In a disturbing twist, the injured driver insisted that a child had been in the car. Rescuers conducted a thorough search but found no evidence of a child at the scene. Officials suspect he may have been delirious due to shock or injury. Police investigator Lt. Patcharapol Tanjing, from Mueang Chanthaburi Police Station, arrived to examine the crash site. Officers discovered drug paraphernalia and a lighter inside the wreckage. The authorities have secured the items as evidence and will question the driver further once his condition stabilises. He will also undergo blood tests for drugs as part of the investigation into the cause of the crash. Rescue workers used hydraulic cutting tools to extract the victim’s body, which had been forced into the back seat by the impact. The process took 15 minutes before her remains were transported to Phra Pok Klao Hospital for an autopsy. Police will continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including whether speed, substance use, or other factors contributed to the crash. -- 2025-02-01
