A five-year-old girl was rescued by emergency responders in an unusual incident , after her leg became trapped in the wheel of a bicycle while riding with her father to a local shop. The incident occurred near Paknam Veterinary Hospital on Sai Luat Road, Muang District, Samut Prakan.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident by the Samut Prakan Rescue Centre. Responders from the Ruam Kusol Foundation and Siwa volunteers arrived promptly at the scene to assist.

The father, 35-year-old Mr. Adi, of Karen ethnicity, was seen holding his crying daughter, Yaya, who also belongs to the Karen community. Her right leg was stuck between the bike frame and the spokes of the rear wheel.

Initial attempts to free the child using pliers to loosen the wheel were unsuccessful. The rescuers ultimately had to use wire cutters to remove the spokes, successfully freeing the child.

Fortunately, there were no visible mayor injuries or broken bones, though responders advised Mr. Adi to monitor his daughter for any signs of pain or swelling and to seek medical attention if needed.

Mr. Adi explained that his daughter wanted ice cream, and while he initially planned to buy it for her alone, she insisted on accompanying him. As they cycled to the shop, he heard her scream and stopped to find her leg caught in the wheel. Local passers-by helped him call for assistance.

After the rescue, Mr. Adi planned to wash his daughter’s leg at a friend’s nearby house, buy her the promised ice cream, and then return home. He intended to come back later to collect the bicycle.
