Thaksin should be jailed again

What do mean with again?  As far as I know he's never seen a jail from the inside.

Didn't he get a royal pardon? That's the end of it. None is above that.  I'm surprised these groups are not arrested for les majest offences.

Thaskin received a letter of forgiveness Thaskin IS a convicted felon  and that will not change

This is all wishful thinking, but until the big guys, says something nothing will happen

Bug guys sure won't say or do anything - with the exception of retroactive complete  pardon to make the whole complaint void

Thailand in the dark ages always looking at the past but only in a very selective way instead of focusing on the future..

Very sad as it's not going to effect a frigging thing, whatever happened to the Bhuddist culture

Instead of all this revenge crap?

The media were reporting an announcement in the Thai Royal Gazette, can't believe they'd all get that wrong....it was even reported as such in Aseannow!!!!

Anyway, I've yet to see any announcements that Taksin did not receive a Royal Pardon.

I think you misunderstand  a pardon and a cert of innocent  A pardon meaning here is diffrent from the west, meaning

to put it simply Thaskin was given a pardon of his sentence from 8 years to 1year  NOT the crime

then when the king gave 1500 convicts royal clemency Thaskin was one ,DOC gave them a cert of innocence which means he can travel overseas  But he is still a covicted Felon that will never change

pardon: an official decision to forgive someone for committing a crime and to free them from full or further punishment or to have their punishment reduced - การอภัยโทษ

Nor should he have been.

He was overthrown in yet another illegal military coup. If the coup was illegal, and it was, then all judgements made under the coup must be illegal as well.

Tony no doubt paid a number of very powerful people including the watchman a lot of money to execute the plan, no amount of squeaking from this lot is going to change a thing...

I can’t understand why so many people busy themselves with the internal affairs of a country that’s not theirs and whose policies wouldn’t come within a thousand miles of their lives, let alone actually affect anyone directly. On top of that everyone thinks they know all about what’s going on behind the veil as if they were there and bore witness. Have you guys got too much time on your hands? How about doing some volunteer work?

Exactly Jonathon.

I’ve asked the resident Mr T hate mob on AN many times if they’ve nothing else in their lives over which to get so exercised.
Their obsession with whether an old man had a bad neck or not is irrational.

Sad people.

It is odd how the protestors are complaining about Thaksin, yet you never hear them complain about corruption in the police, military, the civil service or politicians.

That corruption costs the country far more than Thaksin ever allegedly did or could.

You NEVER hear them complain about an illegal military coup government, or the tearing up and rewriting the Thai constitution, which now it seems is sacrosanct and not a word can be changed.

They are not allowed to complain about certain things.

Square Head cost the country much more than others, especially when he was Deputy PM causing the Tom Yam Gung affair.

And how do you come to the conclusion Thaskin caused the Tom Yam Gung affair??

On 14 and 15 May 1997, the Thai baht was hit by massive speculative attacks. On 30 June 1997, Prime Minister Chavalit Yongchaiyudh said that he would not devalue the baht. However, Thailand lacked the foreign reserves to support the USD–Baht currency peg, and the Thai government was eventually forced to float the Baht, on 2 July 1997, allowing the value of the Baht to be set by the currency market. This caused a chain reaction of events, eventually culminating into a region-wide crisis.

Thaksin was in the driver’s seat, or at least fiddling with the steering wheel during the Tom Yam Kung affair.

When the baht was floated in July 1997, triggering the financial meltdown, Thaksin was the Deputy Prime Minister under Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, with a responibility to oversee economic affairs. So, he was basically running the economy; he had much more influence than Thanong Bidaya, the Finance Minister who technically made the call to float the baht.

But...... Thaksin who was already a telecom mogul, made a fortune during the fallout. With the baht in freefall, companies with deep pockets (and some savvy foresight) scooped up assets at a bargain. Coincidence?  Sure, if you believe in fairy tales.
