If you look at the news and think the world looks just fine

What could have gone so wrong that the Biden era facilitated this "grim" world?

Currently the world looks pretty grim, especially with that orange guy in the USA.

Maybe with the help of the "orange guy" now available for bonafide ungrimming  (can you clarify who "orange guy" is by name please) some measured progress can be achieved towards "ungrimming" the RU/UA conflict that the grim creating Biden was to grim to ungrim....LOL

In my spam folder, I got a offer of a Trump whisky glass.

So now his supporters can get gold sneakers he has never worn, a Bible he has never read, or a whisky glass from a guy who doesn't drink.

It gets more comical every day. What's next, pardoning windmills?

Just to add...many of trump's Executive orders will be challenged in the Courts, IMO a deliberate tactic e.g. Birth right Children already has as being contrary to the Constitution which will go to the Supreme Court. If his stacking of the Court fails you can bet trump will create more chaos blaming the Deep State. However, the ugliness in US politics will worsen either way the Court decides and feed into MAGA extremism.

Looks better than it did just 5 days ago.

This is helpful.

Cleaning up the mess and destruction Biden inflicted on the country, the national security and humanitarian human trafficking crisis due to Biden/Harris failed immigration and border security policies and all the highly effective Trump border policies Biden revoked when he entered office in 2021.

Trump enforcing immigration control and border security.

**("un-grimming" Biden/Harris border & immigration debacle)

It's only been 4 days since inaugeration bit IT IS TIME to "un-grim" the grim war in eastern europe that Biden could not prevent nor end. Pretty grim situation with the grim Biden era wars that Trump will resolve and "un-grim", ending the conflict and the loss of life. Pretty grim situation, all these grim wars occurring under Bidens very grim and very failed tenure.

Trump is correct on birthright citizenship.

I'm hoping that Trump will have a positive effect on the useless UK government.  He already started by not inviting Starmer to his inauguration..

Let's see what Trump will do. It's not just ending a war; it's also a question of the conditions.

And that should be about negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and not so much about what Trump wants.

But let's see, maybe he has this great deal nobody else thought about. Maybe...

The news is very positive, everyone is standing to applaud everything Trump says, people are standing up and fighting back against woke fascism.

Does anyone else feel like it's just a really positive time right now?  Like we're emerging from some sort of dark time in history?

Things are going to change, and I believe that the status-quo needed a swift kick right to the seat of the pants, and Trump 2.0 has brought that. I consider that a good thing.
Now, whether that will usher in good change or bad change?  I guess we'll see. I consider good change to be swinging the social pendulum toward conservatism.  For example - this BS about throwing people in prison or firing them for not using "proper pronoun" had to end.  That change is now being implemented in the US as you had a tiny fraction of a minority of people demanding huge changes in the social fabric of societies to accommodate them,  as well as discovering that Western world leader who were jumping onboard to use these moronic new laws - like forcing the entire public to use "proper pronouns" for the gender confused by threatening members of the public with prison and fines - all in order to push an autocratic agenda and then label it "democracy."  That's now drawing to an end. My guess is the Trump Administration will pull federal funds from universities and federal contractors who insist on maintaining the woke agenda, but, money hunger universities WILL capitulate out of greed alone.  And then pressure will be applied through threat of "tariffs" if other Western leaders don't fall into line.  And voters are about to oust these woke autocrats from their leadership positions in the UK, Commonwealth countries, and the UK.  I consider that all to be good.  However, I'm sure Jingthing and the rest of the progressive members in my Ignore List will disagree. Sorry guys, but the social pendulum is swinging back to the right.  Those of us in the middle of the political road or who are conservatives are not "Far-Right-Wing Fascist Nazis" no matter how many times you insist we are. And by keeping up that rhetoric you only highlight how polarized and radicalized to the Far-Left that you people are yourselves.

It's a new dawn.  "Woke" is going to have a different meaning as in awoken to a new conservative social paradigm.  Join us as brothers and sisters - we don't hate you.

When there's a guy who has been released on a pardon saying the first thing he will do is buy a gun, that's nasty.

It's weird the way "woke" has been used recently.  First it was a positive thing, then it was abused and became a negative, now people are getting woke to how bad wokeness is...  :cheesy:

But theres only so much a human can take!

Many here are Socialist and carry the Progressive badge proudly!

In my circle of progressive acquaintances , we shunned talking politics , simply because they can’t accept alternatives and are intolerant!

I've decided, if I want to read about how Happy & Positive everything seems since 20JAN2025, I'll just start reading nypost.com directly instead of waiting for the usual suspects to link to it on here with their appraisals.

I agree with Trump, but I think it's going to come down to how the courts interpret "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof".
