A Quick Guide

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) with the mother is a type of unfiltered, unpasteurized vinegar made from fermented apple juice. The "mother" refers to strands of beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and proteins that give the vinegar its cloudy appearance and are thought to provide health benefits.

How It's Used

  • As a Beverage: Mix 1–2 tablespoons in water, often with honey or lemon.
  • In Cooking: Use in salad dressings, marinades, or sauces.
  • Topically: Sometimes applied to skin or hair for its potential health benefits.
  • Weight Loss: Often taken before meals to help curb appetite.

Benefits

  1. Gut Health: Contains probiotics, supporting digestion and gut health.
  2. Blood Sugar Control: May help lower blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity.
  3. Weight Loss: Can promote fullness, potentially aiding in weight management.
  4. Heart Health: May help reduce bad cholesterol and improve heart health.
  5. Antimicrobial: Known for its natural disinfectant properties.

Contraindications

  • Tooth Enamel Erosion: Due to its acidity, dilute ACV and rinse after drinking.
  • Digestive Issues: Can cause irritation, especially if consumed undiluted.
  • Medication Interactions: May interact with medications, particularly for diabetes or heart conditions.
  • Skin Sensitivity: Can irritate skin when applied directly.

Apple cider vinegar with mother is a versatile, natural product that offers several potential health benefits, particularly for digestion, weight management, and gut health. However, it’s important to use it mindfully, particularly in the context of potential side effects and interactions with medications. Always consult with a healthcare professional if you have any underlying health conditions or concerns.

Whether you incorporate it into your diet as a drink or use it for its antimicrobial properties, ACV with mother can be a valuable addition to a balanced lifestyle when used correctly.

some indications that apple cider vinegar causes akalinic changes in the body vs acidic -  I have been an oatmeal eater for many decades - i too is acidic in nature but that acid can reportedly be cancelled out by apple cider vinegar - I only eat "soaked" oatmeal, in almond or walnut milk plus 2 tablespoons of appple cider vinegar every morning and haven't had any negative affect  whatsoever so plan to continue doing just that.  I do note that I fast 18-19 hours daily and am never hungry ever so maybe that is one of the benefits most noticiable as my weight also is very stable without being overweight either.  Good health to all and appreciate this type of info being passed around on the forum too.

Do you mean you take it undiluted? Recommended way is in a glass of water.. and yes, I also take it if I’m gonna have a high carbohydrate .

No, I take in water, followed by 2 more mouthfuls of water-only.

I am rather partial to a glass of cider from time to time - I wouldn't know about health benefits but it certainly makes be feel good. In my youth, when assiduously plied to young ladies, was known to aid procreativity!

There are many "MAY". And maybe autosuggestion. Important: if you will feel better it's fine.

I have my oats every morning. However, I let it soaked in water over night because oat contains Phytin acid which will prevent to release iron and zinc , magnesium or folic acid. aso. By soaking the structure will be destroyed and the minerals set free.

Also important are beta glucanes which will form a gel with water and so will protect your stomach.

Beta glucanes are also responsible (slow release)  to reduce cholesterol and blood sugar by catching bile acid.

Enjoy 🤗

My comment was more about the healthy side of soaking over night.

The next morning you can add what you like.

I told you about why soaking is more healthy and what's going on in your body with soaked rolled oat.

I only eat soaked oatmeal and their advice from different sources (easy to google soaked oatmean and apple cider vinegar) and on those different sources, they both talk about how the acidic ACV actually becomes alklinic when processed in the body - and their advice is to soak the oats with water, or nut milk and ADD ACV or lemon juice.  I soak mine 24 hours every day. and for breakfast I add fruits, seeds, nuts, probiotic yogurt, tomato paste, spices, virgin olive oil, and berries - all recommended by Dr. William Li in both his books about healthy foods.  Luckily, Thailand provides just about all the foods the Doctor writes about his research.  Good health!

I pour boiling water over my rolled oats and the leave them to soak overnight, it is important that some cooking process takes place before eating hence using boiling water! The next morning prior to eating I add an unsweetened coconut milk.

I'm unfamiliar with the method of soaking rolled oats.

Do you cook the oats after soaking?

I generally prepare my oats as porridge for breakfast, adding ground Turmeric, Sweet Cinnamon and Ginger.

I take it once a day, with the mother, dilute in lemon juice and water, helps with bph., only use real lemons which are hard to come by in thai.

Would limes work also ?
