Unlicensed Russian Tour Guide Arrested for Illegally Working in Bangkok
Picture courtesy of Matichon. Thai tourism police have arrested an unlicensed Russian tour guide for illegally working in the country’s tourism industry, allegedly taking jobs meant for Thai nationals. On 30 January, the Royal Thai Police Commissioner, Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, ordered stricter enforcement against foreigners working illegally, particularly in the tourism sector, to protect local employment and maintain industry standards during the high season. Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Phuekam, Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Phongsayam Meekhantong, Deputy Commissioner (Investigation), issued an urgent directive on 24 January, instructing officers to conduct raids targeting foreigners working illegally and engaging in activities that could impact Thailand’s tourism sector. As part of the operation, Pol. Col. Songwut Chuephalakij and Pol. Lt. Piyapong Bukhunthot led an investigation and surveillance effort to monitor foreign nationals suspected of working illegally at key tourist sites. During their operation, officers identified a foreign woman conducting guided tours for groups of tourists at major attractions. Upon inspection, the suspect was found to be Ms. Daria Kalininskaia, a 23-year-old Russian national. She was immediately arrested and charged with two offences: 1. Acting as a tour guide without a licence, in violation of Section 86 in conjunction with Section 49 of the Tourism Business and Guide Act. 2. Working as a foreign national without a work permit or engaging in unauthorised employment, in breach of the Royal Decree on the Management of Foreign Workers. Ms. Kalininskaia was taken to Buppharam Police Station, Bangkok for further legal proceedings. -- 2025-01-31 -

DWP life certificate.
As a retired local government officer, I can sign these PoL forms and also countersign passport applications. I have no such "official stamp". Why would I ? I have signed many of these forms for my mates and never been a problem.
