Kasikornbank: Verify SIM card name by April 30

Anyone know if there's an easy way to check whose name is attached to the phone number (AiS) without going to a phone office.

 

Madam doesn't remember whether we used my name when the requirement to actually register first came up 1,000,000 years ago.

You're referring to post-paid accounts?   I'd guess that most foreigners don't use those accounts, they buy pre-paid SIMs to which the OP refers.  Your interpretation of my perfectly normal, non-condescending, non-interrogative question is wrong.  Could you please tone down your rude assertions?

 Did it last week also, just call 1175. They told me it was in my wife's name (who was in close proximity just in case she had to chime in)

I'm relying on this Kbank have not messaged or emailed so hopefully safe my misses got me this SIM, would I need to re-register it if they did contact me? I've filled out the tax stuff they sent me and since then they appear to be leaving me alone.  I have a BKK bank account also so not too worried about losing my mobile banking ability but would be nice to have everything above board very convenient especially using the mobile banking stuff

I believe that you'd benefit from one of the exemptions to (re)registering.  The move is to prevent scams, not to make life difficult for legitimate users who have genuine reasons for the anomaly.

Did it with DTAC, last year when the issue came up. But they closed the account to make a new one in may name, but reused the number. Wasn't easy..

 

Worry about all the accounts in my ebanking one joint, names a bit all over the place as Thais don't understand first, middle and surnames so well.

Do you think that that is a New thing  I remember that we had to register our Sim Card  with our ID 5 or more years ago. I thought this is maybe same  or not ?

I go into my Thai banks and Thai telco every time I have a new passport.

 

As another member said, say a staff member of the telco rearranged my first name, middle name, and surname, I'll have some grief.  TiT.

The call center will tell you if it's your name or the name of your wife.

They will also tell you if it's none of these two, and may help you to figure out which name you used (if, for example,  it was your grandfather ).

 

They will not tell you the name of a SIM card if the name is completely unrelated to you.

Individuals Requiring Legal Guardianship: Such as incapacitated persons, quasi-incapacitated persons, and persons with disabilities. Submit the following documents at a bank branch:
Court order
An ID Card for PWD (Persons with Disabilities) or document issued by the government agencies, or an officially certified documents.

Legal Entities: Companies, government agencies, or other legal entities (in cases where the mobile number is registered under the name of a legal entity and used by personnel within the organization) must submit the documents at a bank branch as follows:
A letter of certification from the company stating the employee's name, mobile number, and authorization to register the phone number with Mobile Banking.

Yes. Going to phone service provider would be the easiest way.

 

TIP. While you are there, check if they have any better packages than your current one. Most times, I always used to find they had some special offers.

I think it's not different from what you have to sign at account opening. If you are not a US citizen it should be straightforward .

I did mine yesterday , me and the wifey went to an AIS shop , Passport , her ID card as the SIM was in her name.

Quick photo lined up with the Passport , a code was sent to my phone for confirmation which the AIS lady then dealt with.
In and out in 10 mins.

Why don't you and your better half, armed with passport and ID card, visit the nearest AIS mall lounge and ask if they can do it before the bank demands that you to do it?

Did it a few months ago, it took bbl about a week to complete the process, k-bank did it in a couple minutes
