He may be unqualified, but dems, scientists, all the experts have failed the public. Trust in the institution will never be the same

No sh!t :cheesy:

We did buy 2 lots of land last year, and instant profit of about 40%, if we sold right away.   Also decided to stop bringing my pension in, via ATM, as it earns 4.99% (?), sitting in USA.  Figure if I crap out, wife can have brother transfer instantly out of my account to his (since we use same broker), then send to her.

Was a nice experiment last year, living on my pittance of a pension, and not touching my Soc Sec.   Anything better than the 1 ish % they give us here @ BBL. 🙄

On topic ... as always ... hopefully the doomsayers will be accurate, and tariffs will jack up inflation, and the lower exchange rate, if continues, will be off set by a nice COLA.

Saw a YT short yesterday, and didn't realize, prior to WW I & II, most govt spending, the whole damn budget almost, was financed by tariffs on imports.  WTF

How did it all turn the opposite so fast ?   Thieving bastards 🥵

I think the most telling statistic would be the percent of GDP consumed by the gub'ment back then, before we were funding illegals in hotels, generations of welfare families, and drag queen events in Lower Slobovia.

All seemed manageable till the Vietnam War, when the realized how profitable war was.  I mean seriously, took 15+ years to lose a war, with a country the size of California.

All paid for by tax dollars they didn't have.   Then add Clinton, letting everyone & anyone, unqualified, to borrow money for homes, they couldn't pay for.

Then comes president cheney, oops, sorry, bush, and another 15 - 20 ish years of losing wars, all funded on borrowed money.

Then obama, bailing out clinton's mistake, instead of letting FDIC do it's thing.  Can't have the stockbrokers loosing money for their indiscretions.

Then comes the idiot biden, selling out the tax payer, and sending more borrowed money everywhere.  Add all that up, and you're now 35T in the hole, and somehow, your credit isn't cancelled.   Go figure.

While the populous is making criminals heroes,  fighting over pronouns and President Trumps hair :cheesy:

You can't make this sh!t up, and why I left when cheney, oops, I mean when bush was on the bridge of that sinking ship.

They got 12 yrs to straighten it out, before the 'One World Globalist' take over.  :coffee1:

Unfit and unqualified are the criterias for Trump's cabinet. He need ring kissers and those who can grovel lowest.

After quite a lot of reflection I have come to the the conclusion that there are three main threads to the Trump government.

The first to get it into place. The MAGA phenomenon was created by appealing to a variety of groups and sentiments predominantly right wing: white supremacists, Christian nationalism, dislike of immigration, particularly by Latinos, all sorts of conspiracy theorists. These all combined to appeal to a large enough sector of the electorate to get Trump elected (just) and to win equally thin majorities in the House and Senate.

Second, Trump was the front man, and placed in the White House is able to pose and strut like a bizarre 21st century reimagined cross between Mussolini and Charlie Chaplin's "Great Dictator".

Third, those behind the throne (and they need a throne to hide behind) have an aim which is both simple and complex - to effectively destroy the current Federal Government structure (hence the chaos and disruption) to rebuild it to a new design, of their making, and to serve their interests.

I'm sure many will cry "conspiracy theory", well go ahead and shout, but are there any more plausible explanations for this deliberate chaos and disruption?

In short, project 2025 to which Trump vehemently denied that he had anything to do with it.

And Trump et al attacked DEI demanding that all positions from top to bottom be based on "merit". Look at the list of massively unprepared, incompetent hacks that are going to have a real world destructive impact on US and the world... Hegseth? Couldn't ran an org about equal to a subway sandwich concession. RFK jr? no med training, conspiracy nut case heroin addict... Tulsi? Known as "Putin's sweetheart" in Russia. Could go on for pages and pages

Someone promoting raw milk while railing against vaccinations really needs to revisit third grade science and Pasteur. He is in no way qualified to lead a department that has anything to do with medicine.

Trump and any mention of merit are as oxymoronic as anything the man could possibly say. He not only does possess merit, he never under any circumstances chooses a anybody to serve in his administration based on the concept of merit. It is always based on the concept of fealty, the willingness for one to sacrifices their standards, and bend down and kiss the ring, and do as he pleases.

Regardless of whether or not it's detrimental to the US interests.

So you're happy with the spendiest (by far) health care system with mediocre (at best) results that led the USA with 4% of the world's population to 16% of the world's reported Covid deaths?

And satisfied with the "don't look here" attitude when the rates of childhood autism (and other chronic childhood maladies) are spiking astronomically?

I'm sure not happy with it.

Not at all happy with it, however, there are plenty of people qualified to handle HHS responsibly. RFK is not one of them. Please stay on topic.

BTW: It is Trump that reinstated pharmas right to steal.

What you're really saying is "toe the line".

The topic is: RFK Jr.’s Confirmation Hearings Prove He’s Unfit to Lead HHS

The topic is not improving health care in the US. Literacy is important, even for Russian trolls.

Silly opinion piece.

RFK will do a great job.

Trump is putting a great team together.

All the Liberal tears do is confirm that.

How can the topic not be "improving health care in the US" if we're discussing his nomination to be head of HHS?

If the topic is RFK Jr sucks, then you'd have a point.  That's what the OP is all about.

I disagree.  He'll be better than the fidiots who have given us high prices and poor results.
