The case has reignited concerns over reckless tourist behaviour on Phuket’s roads, with police urging stricter enforcement of drink-driving laws to prevent further incidents

How about doing something about the 6-8000 people killed annually on Thailands streets due to alcohol?

A breathalyser test confirmed an alcohol level of 0.58, well over the legal limit

Hmm, generally a BAC of 0.4 is threshhold for coma to lethality.

But this guy could walk out of a bar, get on and manage to balance a bike, even for a while?

35 micrograms in 100 ml of breath equals 80 milligrams in 100 ml of blood. I expect they were quoting 58 micrograms.

At 7:14 i suspect he was doing something inbetween walking out of a bar and getting on a bike.

Aside from the fact He is in the wrong, shall we also start addressing the reckless behaviour of the far more numbered local driver infringements.....oh, sorry, no money in that one.

Of course. Limit 50.

So he was just over the limit.

Could have even challenged with a blood test (refusing breathalyzer).

Maybe Mohammed was not well adapted to booze.

Investigators documented the scene with photographs before arresting Jeafar and taking him to Patong Police Station. A breathalyser test confirmed an alcohol level of 0.58, well over the legal limit, reported The Phuket News.

What was the Police  Officers results?

"Pol. Sgt. Maj. Phradon stated that he was patrolling the area towards Pearl Roundabout when Jeafar, travelling in the opposite direction, veered into his lane and crashed into him."

He did what!!! Travelling in the opposite direction on his motorbike, jumped lane, and crashed into the police officer. You gotta be kidding me. Let me guess the French national needed the extra room on the roundabout to make the maneuver and the police wouldn't give way. Case closed.
