DeepSeek, the SUPERIOR Chinese LLM. I will never use an LLM to post content, because.... Why should I? What's in it for ME? 1

But, I'm not entirely sure what it means. I do agree that I don't like to depend upon AI for any writing because it's more trouble than it's worth. An, are we so lazy that we cannot just write our comments/Topics ourselves? Makes no sense how one could even BE this lazy.

Mostly, can't afford it or do not qualify for the Visas or, have some obsession of living in the cheapest place possible and bragging about it. Yes, there is truth to that. I just watched a youtube video of a guy retired in cambodia. He keeps popping into thailand for visits. He probably can't meet the requirements for Thailand. However, that visa in Cambodia is way better and way less hassle than Thai visas. One year visa, no reporting, and you are allowed to work and even do business. 1

Walker88 Posted February 5 Posted February 5 If Jim runs into a bit of a cash crunch, maybe he could pawn his Rolex?
freedomnow Posted February 5 Posted February 5 15 hours ago, Elvis Presley said: Let's make up a fictional scenario. Let's call our character Jim. Now Jim wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer as a child, in fact he failed all of his O-Levels and ended up working in a food processing plant for the next 10 years. When he was 26, fed up with his life in his working class home town, Jim had an idea to make the move to Thailand. The problem was his family were dead against it and he also had a girlfriend at the time, but Jim was determined, so he booked his flight without telling anyone and left very abruptly. Naturally this caused him to burn his bridges back home, so now he was stuck in Thailand alone. Jim stayed on the Khao San Road and bought himself a fake degree, making him a bachelor of English, then two weeks later got himself a job teaching at one of the local thai schools, earning a measley 30,000 baht a month. But for Jim that was Ok, his apartment was only 3,500 a month and he didn't like going out clubbing much. However, as Jim progressed in his career and his salary remained the same, he started to get depressed and began drinking heavily. Around the same time he found himself an alcoholic Thai girlfriend from one of the bars, and the two became heavy drinking partners. One night the girls brother came around to Jims apartment demanding money, which Jim refused to hand over. Jims girlfriend seemed to be in on the scam, as by this point they had only known each other for about 3 weeks. When he confronted her she denied everything and told Jim that because she was so offended she was going to get her brother to do him in tomorrow. Jim knew he had to leave that night, so he packed his things into a small suitcase and headed for the airport when his girlfriend was down at the bar. There was a flight that night to Phnom Penh. Jim had never been to Cambodia before but he knew how rough it could be, but it was either that or face being murdered by his girlfriends brother. So naturally Jim chose the former and boarded the plane to Cambodia. Knowing that he could never return to Thailand for fear of being killed, nor could he return home due to burning his bridges with his family, Jim now feels like he is at the end of the line. Cambodia seems to be the last stop on Jim's sad journey, where drugs, guns, booze, and sin are all available, night and day. He will likely die alone, in his tiny shoebox apartment from a lethal cocktail of drugs and alcohol. Cambodia, at least to me, seems like the end of the Line for many expats who move to South East Asia. Mostly for those with no better options available to them. That is not to say that one day I wont become like Jim myself, I could think of a lot worse places to be than Cambodia, but once you move there then that's most likely it I reckon. THE END OF THE LINE. regards, Elvis from Tupelo. Pretty much, remember joking much younger...cock of the walk young and shiny fresh off the plane in Japan..old and decrepit end of the line in Cambodia. Nailed it. 1

Here is the end of the line: Someplace like Ethiopia...AND, being the last man in a line of camels...transporting salt. The true end of the line. Cambodia is NOT the end of the line, as you put it.... Just try living and working in "Lake" Karum.... Or, try swimming there. Cambodia has lakes where one can float. So, what is your beef with Cambodia??? CAMBODIA...END OF THE LINE..... End of the world, is more like it.... 1 1

Hummin Posted February 6 Posted February 6 36 minutes ago, save the frogs said: came to spread negativity about living in thailand in a cambodia thread? It depends how you read it, and I answered another post related to the same. I think more people should consider what they do when they give up a life in one country for another, and not think everything will be easy, and do not consider future obatacles like stronger bath, new terms and rules for visa and stay, and also world politics. Cambodia have great developments for the moment with huge investments done by China, and that should tell us about where this is heading, or is it mainly Good?

In Bob/Colin/BarBoy and goodness knows how many other aliases' case, Weymouth is the end of the line! You can't get much more "3rd worldish" than Portland on a Saturday night! 2

The inverse is sometimes also true. People should consider that life can get progressively worse back home staying in your apparent comfort zone which is sometimes an illusion. And take a leap of faith and move abroad. it depends on your life and situation. and also, a certain level of intuition is required at times. not any kind of rigid preconceived mindset.

If you limit your life to an appartment in a dirty europeen city, then I can understand. Well, talking about negativity, your presets seems quite negative to a life back home where you orign from, and I find that sad, but happy you have found your chosen destination better.

Why would I need to read some "fake" story on a forum. If I want a fictional story I'll just read a real book thats well written.
