The Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed that Coca-Cola products recalled in Europe for high chlorate levels have not reached Thailand. Deputy Secretary-General Lertchai Lertwut highlighted that Thailand primarily imports these beverages from ASEAN countries like Laos and Singapore, which are not affected by the recall.

Chlorate contamination can occur when water is treated with chlorine-based disinfectants. In response to global concerns, the FDA is working on regulations to cap chlorate levels in drinking water and production water for food and drinks at 0.7 mg/L, following WHO guidelines.

Thailand is also engaging the public in consultations on this draft legislation to align local food and beverage safety with international norms. The FDA reassures citizens that food and drinks in Thailand undergo strict safety checks and random inspections to ensure they meet high safety standards.

What differnce does it make, the <deleted> will kill you one way or another,

that said, on the very rare occasion I crave a Coke, I struggle to find original flavour and when I do I might as well be buying a shot the cans have become so small.

Dinosaur that i am becoming I miss walking around on  hot day with a bag of coke and ice bouncing from my finger on an elastic band.
