Israelis do have mandatory service (with exceptions) for men, women, trans, and intersex but presumably some would serve non-potential combat roles depending on their particulars. They get a chunk of money after service so If you see on a budget groups of young Israelis in Thailand and other popular destinations, there's a very good chance they're taking their after service long holiday abroad. For many that's their last hurrah before going back to stressful full blown adulting. I wonder how that compares to Amish Rumpspringa. (Very wild times!)

Thanks for the perceptive comment.

I wonder how far back these bans in Phuket go? Military service in Israel has evolved from conventional warfare to controlling the Palestinian population in the West Bank. As settlements have constantly expanded since Netanyahu's first term (1996), the repression and impunity has increased. The bad behavior in Mae Hong Son may well be explained by a distrustful attitude toward the "other".

As for Amish, they are peaceful people. My mother's thinking was much influenced by the neighbor, a Mennonite bishop.

Can you provide a link to that claim that Israeli military service has now evolved? Its possible some do go to the West Bank. What makes you think they all do, and why do you think these 4 in particular did?

Pushing in front of queues, and not respecting anyone like the example in the OP.

Considering your behaviour, its understandable that they have no respect for you .

The are are plenty of people who queue jump , actually,  its mainly UK influenced countries that do not queue jump , all the others seem to

Most Israeli tourists or residents always seem to portray an air of superiority or entitlement.

They're not going to be apologizing to you for breathing.

Bottom line, I can give you examples of how Israelis portray their arrogance and sense of entitlement, but you're not genuinely seeking information—your questions are just rhetorical.

OK, dont give  any examples then , up to you .

But some people do make claims and then cannot back them up

I already gave you two examples; you're just not paying attention.

I don't seem to be able to see them, maybe they have gone .

But people from all Countries can appear to be arrogant with a sense of entitlement .

Rather funny, An American accusing others of being arrogant with a sense of entitlement 🙂

Interesting. Weren’t you the guy who was just speaking out against sweeping generalizations and stereotyping? Or does that principle only apply when it suits you?

   I don't think that I was,  no .

But you accuse others of being arrogant , but you just seem to want to tell everyone about how much you've travelled and where you've worked and it all being about you .

Maybe you don't like Israelis because they don't want to talk about YOU all the  time ?

Ah, so rather than addressing your own hypocrisy, you shift to a personal attack. Classic deflection. And since when does mentioning life experiences equal arrogance? Seems like you're grasping at straws.

Not too long ago I was walking through Chiang Mai's Red light district (well road) at night  and as usual there were some ladyboys plying their trade and there were two young western tourists in discussion with a ladyboy and I walked slowly past I heard one the the youngsters say to the ladyboy .

"We come from Israel , you know, where Jesus comes from , can we have two for the price of one , it will be a Religious experience for you"

They were trying to get the ladyboys survives for half price .

They must have thought that I was weird because I just started laughing as I was walking past

Ah yes, when backed into a corner, change the subject entirely. That’s one way to avoid addressing your own contradictions.

You did accuse me of a personal attack, and personal attacks are against forum rules, so, I thought that it would be better to end that discussion rather than get into a bickering exchange .

I don't want to bicker or argue , I've got better things to do .

Ah, so after making a personal attack, you now play the 'let’s not argue' card. Convenient. But sure, let’s pretend this was about avoiding bickering rather than dodging accountability.

Police fined four Israeli men 3,000 baht each for causing chaos at Pai Hospital in the northern province of Mae Hong Son on February 2 by entering an emergency room without permission.

That really isn't a really serious issue .

Israelis are used to their comrades getting taken and held against their will and they are trained to get their comrades back .

The public are allowed into those rooms

The behavior by these Jews has sparked a crackdown on all foreigners in Pai now.

So they will be even less popular now.
If that was possible.

The arrests came after a doctor at Pai Hospital shared an account of what happened on social media, saying that this was not the first time the hospital had encountered rude, aggressive, and law-breaking visitors from Israel.

Pol Lt Gen Saksira Pheuk-am, commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau (TPB), has ordered TPB agencies to strictly enforce the law against foreign tourists who violate regulations, regardless of nationality.

Thanks a lot.

Correction: Behavior by these ISRAELIS.

Also, why shouldn't Thai law treat all the same, or does it get you hard to see Israelis (or as you say Jews) singled out?

Taking Israeli apologist to new heights.

The Thais were trying to help them not take them hostage.

If they can not differentiate they shouldn’t be in Thailand.

They broke into the hospital's emergency room, caused chaos, and vandalised public property after a motorcycle crash left a fellow Israeli injured.

So to you, are all Israelis guilty of those crimes or only the actual perps?

Do you apply that standard to all nationalities of misbehaving foreigners in Thailand?
