I can agree with that, for sure. It was the way that you phrased it in the beginning ("Invite the west in...") that gave me the idea that you were making it as though it's because the "west" is to blame. It doesn't matter where the visitor comes from IMO. Chinese visitors cause just as many, if not more, problems IMO. Then of course you have Indians and Arabs.... It's not an east-west thing.

Honestly, Thailand is uniformly racist when outsiders upset their apple durian carts.
The average Thai could give a rip about jews or gentiles, catholics or hindus, muslims or mormans - all they see are farangs and kreak.  So when the Israelis created problems it just created an "Ai Farang" moment.  Framing that as antisemitism is just lunacy. The vast majority of Thais probably don't even know what the term means.

When the Thai governemnt and businesses start signaling out a specific nationality for unacceptable behaviour then there is problem for that nationality. In this case Israel.

I agree, except in this case, the sign said "No Israel here!". It appears that it was the media that called it antisemitism, not any Thai person that I can tell.... It's difficult to know for sure in this case because there is no author for the article given and also no source for the article given.

Seems to me to be a pretty ignorant (and arrogant, not to mention stupid) position to take for any of the above. If 80% of AseanNow members whooped and cheered for any of the above, that would be a pretty sad statement. I think it's usually a very vocal minority. This sort of ignorant, arrogant, & stupid person often tends to be outspoken too, thus there appearing to be many more of them than in reality. I'd be surprised if it were more than 10% who would actually cheer such a dishonorable undignified display of prejudice.

For the man who promised no more wars, he is now threatening Denmark over Greenland, Gaza, and Panama. There will be wars under Trump. His foreign policy has always been very ignorant, and he is extremely hateful and racist.
