Teen Seeks Temple Sanctuary After Abuse by Uncle and Aunt
In Prachuap Khiri Khan province, a 16-year-old, known as A, has accused her uncle of sexual assault and her aunt of physical abuse. The distressing situation unfolded when she fled to a temple for sanctuary. Accompanied by Chaiyanat Yamasamit, a local assistant village headman, she reported the incidents to police on February 12. The teenager showed visible bruises and a swollen face, evidence of her aunt’s alleged assaults, alongside claiming sexual assault by her uncle. Chaiyanat detailed that the girl was discovered crying at the temple by a monk, who then alerted him. Upon questioning, she revealed the abusive acts by her relatives. Adding to her trauma, A disclosed further molestation by residents at a facility for disadvantaged people where her aunt worked. Police, alongside social workers, took swift action to investigate, safely placing A in a child and family shelter. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities considering charges against multiple suspects while cautioning against false reports. The girl’s 33-year-old aunt, B, admitted to hitting A in anger upon discovering inappropriate interactions between her husband and the girl. B, who raised A from a young age, expressed disbelief at the situation, insisting she provided well for her. This troubling case highlights the urgent need for the girl’s protection and justice, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-02-13 -

Picture courtesy of อยากดังเดี๋ยวจัดให้ รีเทริน์ part 6 Facebook In a dramatic high-speed chase that went viral on social media, a Laotian man managed to evade police after a chaotic pursuit through Bangkok. The incident unfolded on February 11th when traffic officers noticed a grey pickup truck, license plate 3ฒญ 1134 Bangkok, parked illegally on a crossing. The driver, identified as Zone from Laos, appeared intoxicated. Instead of complying with police instructions to move his vehicle for a ticket, Zone sped off, initiating a chase that began on Bangkok–Nonthaburi Road. The pursuit intensified as he reached Taopoon intersection, recklessly ramming into civilian cars waiting at a red light. Despite police attempts to disable the vehicle by shooting out its front tires, Zone continued his dangerous escape. The officers called off the chase near Prachanukul intersection due to the high risk involved, choosing instead to collaborate with other units to locate the suspect. Police Colonel Srayut Mungruen confirmed that the truck has been seized, but Zone remains on the run. No illegal substances were found in the vehicle, but it is believed Zone feared arrest due to being under the influence of drugs. He has no known criminal record, and the police are actively searching for him, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-02-13 -

BBC with a brutal takedown of Ukrainian hopes
This is one of the reasons why I don't comment on the Ukrainian War. Everyone's an expert. The point of my thread is that I'm surprised to see the BBC put the boot in to this extent. Anyway, realpolitik is rearing it's head. We'll see what happens. -

LOL. OK, how is it the equivalent? Heres your chance to say something more than your widdle puppy barking. Tell us, as we await with baited breathe, just how Elon Musk is, to date, stealing from the US government via doge.
