Elon Musk has called for a drastic reduction of the United States federal government,

He is hinting at cuts for many agencies and programs, including social security, Medicare, Medicaid. All part of Trump’s agenda to cut taxes for the rich.

Apparently you're having trouble keeping up. President Musk admitted in his oval office he was wrong about the Gaza condom thing, but MAGA folks are like slow-witted dogs with a bone.

Yeah, who cares about checks and balances, the Constitution, or Congress for that matter. Let's just let one guy from South Africa take over the government and delete any agencies that interfere with his business or he has a politiical aversion to. Great idea!

Wrong about the country. The wasted money was correct

Wastage is wastage, or you want everything to stay juat as it is.

Musk is the one who needs to be somehow eliminated from this ridiculousness. Sure, many areas need to be trimmed. Is he the one to do it?

As his wealth has increased so has his level of arrogance, insanity and foolishness. I don't trust his judgment and he now has far too much power.

Yeah - We are so much better under the corrupt Marxist Democrats.  Drain the Swamp.

I agree with waste cutting. Have to be thought out, carefully plan and within the law. Elon’s wrecking ball approach without proper planning and transparency is doing more harm than good.

Yeah and it would go through the system, be delayed where ever possible by the opposition,

then you'd all claim nothing was getting done and musk was failing

If they are really serious about cutting waste, they should look at the DOD.  The US has more aircraft carriers than the rest of the world combined.  Do you know how many billions could be saved by selling off 1/2 of them?

Musk giving press conferences from the Oval Office while Trump sat there looking like a lost grandad who doesn’t know what’s going on around him is all the warning anyone should need.

Musk is clearly running the show.

An unelected billionaire who is constitutionally barred from the Presidency has taken advantage of an old man whose out of it.

The times still think the Billionaire has their best interests in mind.

If Musk is now president and Trump is Vice President, what on earth is Vance? Secretary? The guy who runs to Starbucks?

Oh wait! 😆

Isn't the space program our only way to get rid of the billionaires?

There are 100,000 terrorists in the world. One is born each day. You cannot stop it.

Okay Sparktrader, then let's have Israel take down the wall between Gaza and Israel proper. Hamas has more fighters now since before 7 October, as the killing of so many innocents in Gaza was a boon to Hamas' recruitment. Since not only can terrorism not be stopped, we now have proof that retaliation against areas housing terrorists creates even more terrorists.

Give Netanyahu a call and share your MAGA wisdom with him.

Oh, and some of the laid off workers in the US guard the US' nuclear stockpile. I guess terrorists who might get their hands on some US nukes cannot be stopped, so why bother.

MAGAs.   LOL!

You're correct, but it's more fundamental than that. We have too many generals and admirals. Too many military golf courses and country clubs. Too few government contractors, because of mergers, and thus less competition in bidding for armaments. And of course the $650 toilet seats and $7500 coffee makers. Whatever the excuses, they still paid stupid sums of money for pedestrian items that can be got for a tenth or less of those prices.

Did anyone see the press conference with Musk and Trump in the Oval Office? Musk's son appears to say to Trump you are not president you should leave, and then wipes a booger on his desk. At least somebody knows how to show this man the disrespect that he richly deserves. And the kid is likely repeating what Musk is saying at home.

Irony, I can support the goal. I cannot, will not support the way this is being done in an unconstitutional means.

totally constitutional and legal

The President  as in the Chief Executive has absolute authority ( and can appoint people to assist) to do so ....   audit /control/suspend eliminate

Running to Starbucks still more useful than Kamala who did nothing.

Biden made the debt worst ever. Somebody has to reduce it.

The wealth gap in the USA is  going to get bigger. Cutting taxes will only accelerate the trend. So will tariffs.

IIRC it was Churchill who said destroying a free market only serves to create a black market.

If Musk gets his way, the data of those federal agencies he wants to close will be acquired by him. Free.

$250 million to buy the Presidency is not a bad investment at all, considering the billions Musk can harvest from all that data.

It does not matter if poor Americans or minority groups voted for Trump or Harris, they will all be tossed under a bus, irrespective of political affiliation.
