I went to tiktok office this morning and asked the lady

Asked her what?

Your previous post stated ...."Available provided you have the800k".

Folk using an agent don't have the 800k

I did.......and I am not alone.

In my case I needed to renew 3 months early

The VAST majority of folk using agent to obtain 1.bank account 2. Non O

3. 12 month extension do not have/want to meet the financial requirements.

That's what the thread concerns..

Not hand holding or obtaining extension early

I asked a local agent yesterday and she said for the non O proof of money is needed 2 months before new extension and 2 month ater the previous extension. So I guess they're weeding out the fake bank accounts.

Why don’t they investigate all the people who are paying off the cops and they’re able to open up different businesses using payments under the table methods TIT

Some people still use agents. The info I got was quite clear, they cannot assist with the800k but can assist if you have the800k

That will significantly reduce their income  (and that of the Immigration officers)

That will significantly reduce the number of foreigners with a retirement visa

This is very interesting as I will be making the move soon and had decided, after going back and forth in my mind, to use an agent and avoid having the 800k in the bank. If this option is no longer available, I might still use an agent, but the price would have to be right. Otherwise I would do the work myself.

Not many folk would bother with using agent for hand holding.

Extension retirement are very straightforward.

The main thing you provide is financial requirements.

I understand, therefore the comment on the "right" price. If I can sit back and enjoy a cup of coffee while an agent sorts out the paperwork and stands in line, it might be worth it 🙂

Thinking you will be surprised.

The "discount" for you covering the financials is not the significant amount one would imagine..

They can assist with the paperwork but the 800k needs to be there,

If you have  the 800k I don't seethe need but some people do need the help.

For annual extensions based on retirement the money in bank is checked retrospectively back to previous extension for compliance

Discount at the Agent I use is 4K (it’s 8K if you have the money in the bank & 12K if you don’t).

So it’s an extra 6K over the 2K (1,900 immigration fees + 100 for bank letter) that you would pay if you do it yourself.

Some people think it’s worth it & some people think it’s a waste of money… Up to Them.

Edit: I am only required to get a statement showing the previous 3 months transactions which is great as I can get it done on the day (Bangkok Bank) I don’t know if that’s because I use an Agent or it’s because I use a Fixed Deposit account so there are only a handful of transactions each year.

Which agent do you use?

With an FD account most immigration offices would be ok with just photocopies of bank book pages.

I used to do the extensions myself but changed to a popular agent because their fees are fair and the frustration factor is zero.

If the fees get silly I'll go back to doing it myself ,reluctantly.

Which popular agent are you using?
