Road Safety in Thailand – a summary of Perceptions and Reality
I was 17 when I took my drivers test. They have books in classes, along with videos. If you have access to the internet, which you obviously do, you can research what books are available about driver safety. The books I've read have no bearing on this, as do any you've read. Anyone can look up most anything online and quote it here. You keep coming back. Why? You still don't understand others in the world know what you do about driver safety, and a lot more .The material is available for everyone to read. What you fail to understand is that attitudes on driving can't be changed by a test or a book. -

Man Killed by Neighbour Over Noise Dispute in Nakhon Pathom
Picture from responders. A man was shot dead by his neighbour following a dispute over loud noises from plumbing work in Nakhon Pathom province on 20 February. At approximately 12:30, police received reports of a shooting at a residence in the Huam Kret subdistrict of Sam Phran district. Officers and rescue personnel arrived to find the body of 47-year-old Montara lying in a pool of blood, having sustained gunshot wounds to the left arm and head. About 50 metres from the scene, police located a .38 calibre homemade firearm discarded on the roadside. The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Vithun, was also a neighbour of the victim. According to Police Colonel Paitoon Paesinuan, prior to the shooting, Montara was performing plumbing repairs outside his home, which created significant noise. This seemingly provoked Vithun, who lived nearby, leading to a heated argument between the two men. During the confrontation, Vithun fired one shot at Montara before walking around the house and returning to fire a second shot, fatally wounding him. In a tragic turn of events, Vithun then used the same weapon to shoot himself in the chest, resulting in serious injuries. He was subsequently transported to the hospital for emergency treatment. An eyewitness, known as Pom, recounted hearing the argument and gunshots. He emerged from his house to find Vithun walking around with the firearm and heard Montara calling for help, stating, “Help! I’ve been shot.” Pom immediately ran to fetch his brother to help and returned to find Montara had already succumbed to his injuries, prompting him to contact the police. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident. -- 2025-02-21 -
