Struggling to believe 7.5k month luxury condo.

I can only guess luxury has a wide spectrum of definition!

You sit in an old down market unit talking about Thailand and eat ham. The above answers mean you dont do much.

After returning from LOS, I posted a few times about my living in OZ. So I must tell you LOS is not cheap. Have to tell you guys again that I have to rent a unit It is cheaper than you guys made it to be.   I paid 240 AUD per week for a 2 bedroom for 8 years and that includes water. I have not paid for electricity since COVID-19 struck many years ago. How much do you guys Pay per week to live in LOS?

I guess it's all about forex exchange rates but yeah Australia is not that expensive if I look at random places like Cairns. It's like what i spend and pay in Bangkok, a decent room there also costs me 1500-2000 baht. Same for mid range restaurants, you also spend easily 1000 baht.

The people that move here for money reasons are usually fked regardless though. They would still have a bit more here i guess, like you can eat unhealthy greezy street food on markets cheaper while not in Australia, those kind of benefits.

Not to forget that in Australia they then have real companies, paying tax, people with good wages working there, good service, quality etc etc. Happy to go there again soon as I got a multi entry biz visa approved (a visa I still never got in Thailand after a decade).

Meanwhile Thailand wonders how to attract 'real talent'. Anyway it's very obvious inside TH that many people are just stuck and live on a meager pension or wage, and comparing that to living back home makes Thailand than a lot better. They want that bubble to stay alive essentially, that does not make it reality.

Living in the west or other countries is not cheap.
I live now about 4 months in Spain and can compare the prices of living in Europe and living in Thailand.
But in the long term, Spain is cheaper than Thailand for me.
I walk every month into the hospital, visit a few specialists and get my medication FREE OF CHARGE.
I go many times drink a glas of wine and get a Tapa of my choice free.
Total price for a glass of wine and a Tapa (food) is 3.5 EUR.
I stap on the bus and can go anywhere FREE OF CHARGE.
So, living in the West can be cheaper as Thailand.
And best of all, NO HASSLE WITH VISAS OR 90-DAYS REPORTS.

Times are changing fast and Thailand is not the country it was when I came living there.
In a few years time, Thailand will become a very expensive country for most expats.

Living in the west / in Thailand.

It's more than costs.

Years back I got asked many time 'Why do you hate your birth country? (Typical western country.)

My response every time 'I don't hate my birth county or any country or any person.

Nowadays I really enjoy living in / emersed in a quite different culture - an Asian culture.

I can't see myself returning to live in a culture (western culture) where I'm not enjoying the daily life, not enjoying the typical activities, behaviors, attitudes, priorities, food that surrounds me where I am in Asia.

A couple of times I got responses 'but why don't you just try to move back to your original western county  culture?

I just responded 'I don't want to try', and changed the subject.
