UK Parole Board Defies Justice Secretary in Controversial Release of Terrorist

The Parole Board has overruled opposition from the Justice Secretary and re-released Shah Rahman, a convicted terrorist who plotted to bomb the London Stock Exchange. Rahman, who was one of four British extremists inspired by al Qaeda, had pleaded guilty to preparing acts of terrorism in 2012.  

 

At the time of his arrest, a handwritten target list was discovered at the home of one of the conspirators. The list contained the names and addresses of then-London mayor Boris Johnson, two rabbis, the US embassy, and the stock exchange. The planned attacks were thwarted before specific dates could be set, thanks to undercover anti-terror police. Rahman was subsequently sentenced to 12 years in prison with an additional five years on extended licence. He was first released in 2017 under the automatic release provisions of his sentence.  

 

However, he was recalled to prison in March 2022 after authorities discovered he had a secret bank account, breaching the conditions of his release. This led to a further eight-month prison term. Since his recall, the Parole Board has conducted two reviews of his case. The first, in February 2023, concluded that he should remain incarcerated. However, following a hearing on January 24 this year, the board decided that Rahman’s continued imprisonment was “no longer necessary for the protection of the public.”  

 

In its summary of the decision, the Parole Board stated: “The panel determined that there were no heightened concerns of an extremist risk and that Mr Rahman met the legal test for release.” The board cited his participation in psychological sessions designed to address his breach of licence and to help him gain a better understanding of his faith.  

 

The report further noted that Rahman had claimed he was radicalized by events in Iraq and Afghanistan, admitting that he lacked a proper understanding of Islam and had been influenced by extremists. Although there were initial concerns about the people he associated with upon his return to prison, the board noted that he had not been subject to security attention and that no concerns had been recorded since October 2024.  

 

Despite opposition from a representative of Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood, the board concluded that Rahman could be managed in the community under a strict supervision plan. This includes around 30 licence conditions, extensive monitoring, and measures deemed “robust enough” to mitigate any potential risk.  

 

Under the conditions of his release, Rahman must reside at a designated address, submit to enhanced supervision including curfews and GPS tagging, and comply with police searches under measures designed to manage extremist offenders. However, the decision to free him has raised questions about the balance between public safety and rehabilitation, as well as the effectiveness of the parole system in handling high-risk individuals.

It's pretty obvious that the UK government is a breeding ground for deliberately injecting utter chaos into what used to be British civil society. I wonder when the British descendants who are ethnically Gaelic, Celtic, and Norse are going to finally say, "That's freaking enough!", to the British elites who seem to be hell-bent on dismantling the UK and destroying British ethnic and cultural identities - violently - using know violent criminal extremists prisoners as their proxies and then threatening to throw all ethnically British citizens who complain too loudly in prison in their place.

Not until its too late I think.  The state overreach in the UK right now is off the charts dystopian and people are already in jail for mere social media posts.  The islamification process has started and continues with the Orwellian mantra of "Diversity is Strength".    Our grandkids and their kids will rightly hate us for not acting sooner as their futures are looking very bleak.  They will suffer greatly being non muslims in a muslim majority country under Sharia law.

The same reason that the EU elites, and for that matter US progressives leaders, have opened their borders and allowed extremist and criminal proxies to sow chaos within each sovereign country's borders (eg, Germany and France) and then arrest an imprison there own citizens if they protest the civil discord.  At least for the moment that seems to have been nipped in the bud in the United States.  The German elections this Sunday will be a bellweather for the direction that the EU and UK states will be going via elections and voters.  And if the same elites crack down on elections which don't "go their way" like they did in Romania recently, then you'll see the openly totalitarian elites fighting to regain control by whatever means necessary.  And if they do, expect a massive reaction by the new Trump administration. Totalitarianism to "Save Our Democracy" is still Totalitarianism.

You're right in that Westminster is the nexus of UK chaos. But that's systemic. It has nothing to do with the actual parties or policies. The system itself is so rotten and outdated that the downhill developments have been underway since about 1956 at the latest.

 

What we see today is nothing to do with Starmer or even Truss. They are symptoms not the problem.

 

Until the place reforms and comes into the 21st century (including the 19th century mindset of most of the population who've been electing the current batch of wazzocks for decades) the decline will continue 'apace', as they say in ministerspeak.
