In a controversial move, Thailand has secretly deported 40 Uyghur detainees to China after holding them for nearly 11 years.

As if this itself wasn't cruel and inhumane?

I only stated facts. Of course both you and me didn't know for sure if they were involved or not. That's someone's job to find out. But by you deciding that they were surely innocent, that's you trying to BS to yourself too.

The date of the attack. The date they were locked up. You have biasedly assumed that they were innocent. What if they were not innocent? If you support terrorists and terrorism or simply die-hard anti China, then no need to argue any further.

Whats that got to do with the fact they weren't there during the attack you linked?  There were a lot more that originallybexited China and many were returned already and some went to turkey. Your implication is just like claiming all Muslims are terrorists!  Is that what your claiming? So anyone that came thru that city and province were involved?

This is not a Binary issue... There's a hard line ruling party implementing draconian and strict policies in Xinjiang, under the premise of national security concerns and the need to combat extremism.

On the other side, there is a minority which is claiming and human abuses, assaults on Uyghur identity, culture, and religious freedom along with reports of forced labour, suppression of language, and the separation of Uyghur families.

There have been accusations of human rights abuses and even genocide, there have been accusations of terrorism against those fighting back against these 'supposed human rights abuses'...

Then in between there is a large grey area in which plenty of 'wrong is occurring'...  from taking over aircraft (domestic China flights) with 'handheld weapons' and what would be considered terrorism.. to acts by the Chinese Authorities that the West would term genocide (which I highlighed earlier).

We are naïve if we think The Chinese government, under the ruling Communist Party are not extremely harsh against the Uyghur, we are also naïve if we thing the Uyghur have not committed crimes fighting back for their freedoms.

Look no further than the persecution of the Falun Gong....

Within China, you either comply exactly with the ruling Communist Party , or you are persecuted...

I have very little doubt that those Uyghur being repatriated are facing an inhumane fate - It would not surprise me to learn that those repatriated are no longer with us.

And yet Thailand maintains a seat on the UN council for Human Rights

Perhaps the UN Council for Human Rights should take a closer look at that.

The reality is that there will be no cost to Thailand for doing this. It's not as if anyone will take action is there?

The international community doesn't care. Perhaps a few empty words, but no action.

Western students and the usual cadre of protestors won't protest since it isn't Israel bashing.

How many people will cancel their holiday in Thailand? No one.

How many muslim countries will reduce their trade with Thailand. None

How many  Thai muslims will protest? Very few if any.

And this folks is how radicalism finds a place to grow.

Living proof that the CCP has far too much influence over a supposedly sovereign nation...Thailand.

China pounds its drums and Thailand marches. An old NCO from the Vietnam war (known in Vietnam as the American War) told me upon my arrival to keep my feet lose in the sand. I owned a couple of condos here in the past but never again.  I love Thailand but do NOT trust their leaders regarding their intentions of competence.  I keep my feet lose in the sand here and my exit plan updated.

Other than sending the Chinese Uyghurs back to China where they will be likely placed in forced labor, another prime example of idiotic leadership is building Thailand's tourism industry on the three pillars of India, China and Russia and then complaining about the results. The average Thai doesn't like people from these countries but the government could care less. Thailand is the ONLY country in the world who rolls out the red carpet for these countries.

Spot on.

Personally, I think terrorist should not be given any rights, they should've been executed upon being identified.

So you don't think that you should actually have to prove in a court of law that they are terrorists?

Nope, they are in a military jail, they are enemy combatants not in any military uniforms (aka Terrorists), they deserve no rights or quarter.
