Six-Year-Old Girl in Critical Condition After Brutal Dog Mauling in Nonthaburi

Recommended Posts

The following applies to a large number of dangerous dog breeds in Germany: the dog owner needs a special 'driver's license' for keeping such an animal, i.e. he must be specially trained and have taken an exam, and last, he has to have a flawless leumund certificate. The dog is checked whether it has behavioral disorders. The dog must be registered. The owner pays a higher tax for this dog than for normal dogs.

The result: such incidents as well as the one described here are hardly available in Germany.

The dog needs to be euthanized and the owner sent to jail.......

Animals proven to be lethally violent are not euthanized enough in Thailand. Apologies don't mean <deleted> in a situation like this. The owner needs to be made to take responsibility as theough they themselves carried out the attack. Even if the girl survives, her life is ruined

Please note, if you are around these dogs, prepare for a fight to the death.  They are predators...and take no prisoners!  It is you or them.  In my hood, I carried an ice pick with me every day when I had walk pass the cray neighbors who had these dogs....I am a human...top of the food chain...no dog will ever kill me or my kids back then....

For dog attacks, change the law so that owner of the dog is responsible for the attacks as if he would have done the attack himself. Maybe people get more careful.

Then the owner will always deny that it is his dog.

Solar, a seven-year-old male pit bull, belonged to Montien Roopyim, 54, a neighbour. She admitted ownership of the dog and apologised to the girl’s family, insisting the attack was unintentional.

Not according to the dog... it was very intentional

Yes, actually, they do...in places like Florida and Texas.

This is why I left.

Convincing argument to leave - yet it is not your normal family hamster or guinea pig 😉 A pitbull is - as proven over and over - a dangerous animal unlike, say, gold fish?

Just an observation about Human Behavior:

I have often wondered if the Reason for Raising...

Large and Ferocious dogs...might be motivated by....

Some lack of endowment on the owners part.

Or, maybe, a feeling of powerlessness on the owner's part.

Are these Big Dogs just a cheap and easy way for the owner to Compensate for Something Missing in his/her life?

Perhaps, the owner is just attempting to live through his dog...

A life which is unattainable for him/her, otherwise.

Obviously, this represents an abnormal coping mechanism on the part of the owner.

Just what Abnormal Psychology this might be...is multifaceted...and....

Probably not one size fits all.

But, for sure, Size Matters to these owners.

How very sad it is.

I do not object to other's owning goldfish.

Just, please, not in my back yard.

Nothing to do with the dog.

The people who keep this kind of dog are responsible.  It should be forbidden to.buy these kind of dogs. But, money always is an excuse here....

The owners of this dangerous animal should be jailed for a very long time, maybe for life. It is about time a strong message be sent out to people who want to own such dangerous, so-called pets.

Better still, make it an outlawed breed.

The dog needs to be put down but I'm not sure Thai Buddhist culture and beliefs will allow this.

I think they're just using Buddhism as an excuse to be lazy do nothings. They can't kill the dog because it's against their religion but if the dog kills you then it must be karma. How very convenient. Sounds like the perfect philosophy for a person dedicated to a life of sloth and inaction.

Can someone please tell me why aren't the Netizens onto this calling for stricter rules on pit bull owners ??

they jump on everything else so why not this ??

The rules should be strict to the point of pitbulls being banned  in Thailand as they are in many civilised countries!

nothing, are you sure? So my dog and the pit bull have the same chance to kill if only I was a worse owner. Make it make sense.

Many dogs roaming around free in residential areas are, in truth, nothing but WILD ANIMALS with powerful, sharp teeth.

They are very aggressive and territorial.

If only gun carrying in Thailand were not restricted...because...then...

I would consider carrying a saw-off shotgun when hiking or walking.

One blast with 12 Gauge Buckshot, and....

Game Over!

This is the best way.

After about a year, or so...

The population of wild dogs in Thailand would be a thing of the past.

Those Mexican Chihuahuas are terrible.

What a racket, morning, noon, and night.

Glad I live in a place where neighbors, immediate neighbors, don't raise dogs.

Barking of dogs is NOT music to my ears.

Complete nonsense. Even in Thailand, dog owners are responsible if someone is injured. You have no idea:post-4641-1156694572:

“I never imagined this would happen. I raised Solar carefully, and he never attacked anyone before.

I think the hound should be re-named 'So Long' shortly before it gets a bullet.

Any dog that has attacked someone other than a burglar or similarly ill-intentioned person coming on to your property, should be euthanised.

A six-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being viciously attacked by a pit bull in her home in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. The dog dragged the child from her bed, inflicting severe injuries to her neck and head, tearing off the skin and exposing parts of her skull. She remains in intensive care at Pak Kret Hospital.

The dog should be killed instantly.

We need a law.

Any dog over two pounds (one kilo) must be housed in a zoo, same as lions and tigers and hippos.

When I lived in China, and visited GuangDong, I ate as much of the meat on offer from the fast-food dog restaurants there as possible.

Unfortunately, not sure if they are still in business.

The Chinese authorities know how to deal with out-of-control dog populations in places where humans live.

So, in this case, just do what the Chinese do.

It's the very BEST way....

We no longer live in the Jungle.

Most people live in residential areas where GIANT Mastiffs are out of place.

If we wish to keep dangerous dogs alive....THEN.....this is the very best place for them:

Dangerous Dog Zoos.....

Let them live there.

Bangkok has a law fairly new - adopted last year and folks that own dogs in BKK have 1 year to register their dog and get it chipped.  Wonder how that is going.

The Chinese also know how to cruelly torture and kill dogs for food - most of them domestic dogs and strays. The number of victims is over 10 million a year. Mainland China is the last country in the world I would be praising for their dog ownership policy. A crueller nation towards animals would be hard to find.

Sadly, it's far from a problem that's confined to Thailand. This one in the UK had an even worse outcome yesterday.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c86pp14j0dxo

I love house cats.

In fact, I love cats of all kinds.

One solution would be to ask citizens of Thailand to trade in their dogs for cats, instead.

This is what they do to solve the problem of gun ownership.

The gov requires gun owners to trade in their guns for some sort of price or compensation.

Therefore: Please...EVERYBODY.... Just trade in your dog for a cat....PLEASE !!!!

And, you will be far happier, too.

Cats are extremely low maintenance.

I never needed to give my cat a bath.

Cats don't like baths.

I have not had cats for many years.

Instead, I just enjoy the neighbors' cats.

Also, I have never been bitten by a neighborhood cat.

Sometimes, they just come over to my compound for company, and to lie around in the shade.

They chase off the pigeons, too.

Love Cats!!!!
