Those Mexican Chihuahuas are terrible.

What a racket, morning, noon, and night.

Glad I live in a place where neighbors, immediate neighbors, don't raise dogs.

Barking of dogs is NOT music to my ears.

My dog is well behaved and quite enough unless you come to door. Besides that these dogs are CHICK MAGNETS. Thai girls love these things. Get one and you'll have girls coming up to take pictures and ask it's name age etc...

Any dog who bites any human being in a serious manner should be put down within 24 hours no questions asked and no appeals possible dog should never be given priority over humans and doing so is a sign of a broken society. Not only that but the owner should face a massive fine there's just no excuse to have a poorly behaved dog who's aggressive toward others, especially defenseless children.

Owner should be jailed 12 months.

Why not just rent a Mike Tyson, instead?

Mike is a chick magnet.

But, did any chick do well by playing up to Mike?

NO!

Chihuahua's are evil nasty little b@stards...  yet they can't actually chew off a child's face in a single attack...   And this is why the breeds I mentioned earlier are so dangerous....

The power they poses is extreme and their breeding combines to a formidable result - people will argue 'they are ok if they are well trained'...  I'd argue, why do they have to have the violence 'trained out of them'....   'family' Dogs should be saft and sappy by nature...

The poodle is not capable of ripping someones scalp off their scull, or tearing their face off....  a Pit Bull is....    the comparison you make is night and day.

A Poodle is not less dangerous as (than a) Pitbull - thats complete delusion.

In the example you use...  a poodle bit someone in the face....   its quite likley that if that dog were a pitbull, it would have ripped off the victims face....  there's a huge difference.

A dog is family of the Wolves and have the same instinct.
Once the instinct is triggered they will attack anything that stand in their way.

Dog owners shall be held responsable for the actions of their dogs and made to pay the damage they have caused by every possible way. Confiscate their house(s), Car(s), Motorbike(s), bank accounts and salaries, etc. until they have paid for the damages of the dogs.
There should be also a forced insurance for dog owners like in most Western countries to ensure that the victims will be paid.

https://commercevillagevet.com/3-aggressive-dog-breeds-revealed-youll-surprised/#:~:text=The Dachshund.,Jack Russells came in third.

The study involved researchers from the University of Pennsylvania as well as 6,000 dog owners. The number one aggressive breed out of the 33 dogs surveyed? The Dachshund. Yes – the wiener dog! The study found that “one in five dachshunds have bitten or tried to bite strangers, and a similar number have attacked other dogs; one in 12 have snapped at their owners.”

Number two on the list is an even more diminutive breed – the Chihuahua, while Jack Russells came in third.

I hope the family of that poor little girl have the funds to get proper care.

She's going to need a specialist.

As for sitting with the girl "watching over her", what a load of bull<deleted>.

If that was my kid they would not want to be anywhere near me.

apologised  !  that is laughable..

They will never learn,  we have witnessed many pit bull attack across Thailand over the past several years,  but they still do nothing about regulations and enforce mandatory leash and cage.  They lack common sense.

shoot the dog immediately.

just waiting for the ...oh' he's never harmed a fly brigade to reply... :vampire:

7 years my friends pitbull never harmed a fly, then seriously mauled him debilitating his arm for life after he tried to stop the dog mauling his nephews pet rabbit, the dog was put down, that is mandatory law in NZ, plus they are banned now, but lot's of mongrels still around. When will Thailand ever learn, becasuse there's no such thing as a pitbull that won't go off at some stage of its life.

Very much the case. How to prepare to defend yourself? Owning and, of course, carrying a handgun or maybe a large knife?

Now you can google.- has a person ever fired from being attacked by a house cat…?

I’m sure it’s happens but drawing any such parallel with Pitbulls would show a similar lever of galactic stupidity as your comparison.

This amazes me. These 2 elders arguing over who is responsible when the child is half dead in the hospital. The neighbor Jjt is not responsible for the owners dogs actions. Not locking the gate as well as securing the dog to its cage should have been the owners priority. Now they play the blame game and from the OP seem to show no remorse for the girl other than a cursory sorry given. When will Thais learn how to train and keep a dog and be responsible?

It is not only the Thai people, but many are irresponsible people in many other countries as well. Mostly in the UK the dogs are euthanised very quickly. However as can be seen in he OP, euthanising dogs (even pit bulls and their variants) is not an easy task.

IMHO pit bulls and their all variants serve no useful purpose and were bred solely to fight and kill and again IMHO every single one should be humanely destroyed worldwide. They are not pets, but killing machines. Ignore the owners that protest and say that their animal would never do that, simply because they have no idea if the dog will turn and attempt to kill, and if it does, it will be far too late and virtually impossible to stop it.

Maybe it is time to add "bulldog" and "pitbull" onto the list of animals which you do NOT KEEP DOMESTICATED.

I hope the owner is taken to the cleaners for all medical and cosmetic surgery treatment of this poor girl.

Nobody keeps lions, leopards or panthers domesticated either ........

Actually there are some really stupid people in Thailand who do keep a lion as a pet. I don't think that I would sant to take one of them for walkies though.

A Pitbull enters your land, go indoors or be prepared to use a machete.

A cat enters your land, feed it.

We have a cat like that.

It liked it so much that the scrawny kitten adopted us and is now a sociable cat, but only on its own terms. It loves me in the morning because I feed it, after which I am ignored until it is hungry again. It likes my wife and other people, is ignored by my neighbours dogs, and detests their 2 cats who are always trying to steal its food, unless I am on guard duty.

A six-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being viciously attacked by a pit bull in her home in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi. The dog dragged the child from her bed, inflicting severe injuries to her neck and head, tearing off the skin and exposing parts of her skull. She remains in intensive care at Pak Kret Hospital.

Emergency responders from Bua Phet Rescue Unit rushed to a rental property in Soi Sukha Pracha Sarn 2 after receiving distress calls on the evening of 27;February, about a violent dog attack. The home, situated in the Saeng Chan fishing pond community, had no perimeter fence. Bloodstains were found scattered around the bedroom, where the attack took place.

Neighbours identified the victim as Kaimook, a six-year-old girl who sustained deep lacerations on her head, including a seven-inch wound exposing her skull, as well as additional injuries to her neck, ears, and left arm.

Somsak Anthapanya, a 48-year-old shop owner, was among the first to respond after hearing the girl’s screams. He recounted a terrifying struggle to free her from the powerful grip of the pit bull, named ‘Solar.’ “I rushed in and saw the dog biting her neck. I managed to pull it off, but it attacked again, going for her head,” he said.

His son, New, 27, witnessed the attack and described how the dog had wandered into the house before launching its brutal assault. “It first bit her neck and dragged her to the floor. Even after we pried it off, it lunged again, biting her head and tearing her scalp. Eventually, someone managed to strangle the dog with a rope until it let go.”

Solar, a seven-year-old male pit bull, belonged to Montien Roopyim, 54, a neighbour. She admitted ownership of the dog and apologised to the girl’s family, insisting the attack was unintentional. According to her, the dog escaped after another neighbour, Jit, 60, failed to lock the gate properly while collecting water from her home.

“I never imagined this would happen. I raised Solar carefully, and he never attacked anyone before. I am devastated, and my son is at the hospital watching over the girl. But I also want to know how Jit will take responsibility because it was his mistake that allowed the dog to get out,” she said tearfully.

Her brother, Naruthep, 26, who assisted in restraining the dog, confirmed the family had always taken precautions. “We secured the gate with a latch and an extra rope. This wouldn’t have happened if the gate had been locked properly,” he insisted.

Jit, the neighbour responsible for leaving the gate unlocked, admitted his mistake but said he had assumed the dog had returned to its cage. “I accept that I opened the gate, but I did close it, I just didn’t lock it. I will discuss the matter with the dog’s owner and find a way to resolve this.”

Kaimook remains in a critical state in the intensive care unit. Doctors are monitoring her closely due to the severity of her wounds. Authorities are investigating the incident and considering potential legal action.

That's the point of the problem. You can't keep a dog in a cage far from human care and love. Any pets need to be in contact to human all the time and socialize with neighbors as good friends. That's how I always raised my dogs and I never had any issues
