Authorities have raided the home of a 54-year-old expatriate, Mr. Francisco Ramos, a Spanish national and former TV presenter for Discovery Channel,  following complaints about illegal wildlife possession on his vast 98-rai estate in Kanchanaburi Province.

Officers from the Natural Resources and Environmental Crime Suppression Division (NRECD), in coordination with immigration police and wildlife officials, executed a court-approved search warrant at a property in Lao Khwan district. Reports had alleged that the owner was keeping a variety of protected and exotic animals, including species imported from abroad.

During the search, authorities discovered over 50 animals, including kangaroos, ostriches, capybaras, emus, peacocks, miniature livestock such as pygmy goats and cows, wild boars, civets, and several protected reptiles, including Sulcata tortoises and reticulated pythons.

Mr. Francisco, the property’s owner, admitted to purchasing the animals as pets. He claimed that the land belonged to his son, who was born from his marriage to former Thai model Alisa Inthusamit, also known as  Yuyee, a well-known figure from the 1990s, who in 2014 received a 15-year sentence for smuggling cocaine into the country. She also received a prison term of three months, handed down in a separate case by the Min Buri Court, which convicted her of smuggling protected wildlife into the country. Both Yuyee and her husband, at the time, claimed she was framed  by an influential person they had angered by setting free animals held by wildlife traffickers. She was released in 2020, after serving 6 years.

Francisco also revealed that he had frequently posted pictures and videos of the animals on his Facebook and YouTube channels, which may have led to the complaints that triggered the investigation.

Police have charged Francisco with possession of protected wildlife without proper permits, a violation of Thailand’s Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act of 2019. He has been ordered to provide documentation proving legal ownership of the animals. If additional offences are discovered, further legal action will be taken.

Stupid comment as usual.

she had a quarter of one gram.

I did obviously mean any drugs that she DIDN'T get caught smuggling .

If  she didn't get caught  ,then she would have made a huge profit .

Shes not going to get rich for the drugs that she had confiscated from her, now is she Malcolm .

(And its been known that the authorities confiscate drugs and keep some for themselves and just use a minimal amount for the prosecution )

More stupidity.

if she was a smuggler with the intent to sell she wouldn’t just have a quarter of one gram would she.

She is a successful model and singer and cocaine is common in that industry.

Stop trying to smear the woman with your garbage.
Some unsuccessful people hate those who are successful

Malcom, you can either speak civilly or you can go and talk to someone else .

I will not converse with you if you speak to me like that .

So, if you want to talk, then stop the abuse .

Talk in a civil manner , or we don't talk at all .

Understand ?

I bet all of the exotic animals living in cages at the Chatuchak market (even after the fire) can only wish to live on the Spaniards farm where I bet they will have more space. Sickening to see all the exotic animals at Chatuchak market, even having little goats (not exotic I know) in tiny cages good for a small cat!

Help me out here; which 7/11 sells kangaroos, ostriches, capybaras, emus, peacocks, pygmy goats, wild boars, civets, Sulcata tortoises and reticulated pythons? Or is it Lotus's, Makro or Big C Extra instead?

Most of these animals cannot read and hence would not have found the Spaniard's farm on their own - or am I getting something wrong here?

Go after the wild life trade and you'll earn a medal in Geneva, bestowed by the WWF.

You have accused the poor woman of drug smuggling to get rich and buy land when she has had a successful modeling and music career spanning decades.

And now you are “offended”?

She could sue your arse off for your allegations. Computer law crime in Australia would you are doing is jailable.

You are replying to the wrong person .

It was me who made that post .

I asked a question , I didn't make an allegation .

I didn't accuse anyone of anything .

As you do not know the difference between a question and an allegation  , you are in no position to call others "stupid" .

It's your inability to understand English which was the issue .
