are you pale as a ghost or baked like a lobster?

so saw two guys side by side.

one guy was pale as a ghost. some people seem to master the art of staying out of the sun.

the other guy was baked like a lobster, had his shirt off. some people go out of therir way to get as much sun as possible, completely oblivious to any potential risks of getting too much sun? guy's entire body was freakin' red man.

what about you? where are you on the scale of pale to red?

yeah, i witnessed a falang on his balcony without clothing

Wasn't me, unless you were working the pineapple field.  The back veranda is above the wall, so a little caution needed when sitting there.  The 'path' through the middle of, is too far away, so no real worries, unless I stand up and wave to them as the scoot by on the  motorbike 😎

Depends how cute they are 🙄

I'm confused.

2 men, 1 pale, another red like a lobster?

Maybe the lobster was on top? 😳🥴😵‍💫😱

I just do it Thai style, my face and arms / legs have a good tan but I usually always keep a shirt on so it is entirely white elsewhere.

The tourism and sun tan thing is weird one tho, they always go for the red lobster to then lose their tan 2-3 weeks after getting back. I never really got the purpose of it, if not maintaining it after as well. Is like going to the gym just once a month.

I try to avoid the sun and wear long trousers, shirt and hat outside. I put sunscreen on any exposed skin. I guess coming from Australia, where skin cancer is common, is behind this.

I'm always surprised to see foreigners wandering around in shorts and lying in the sun. I assume they are from colder European countries where sunlight is a treat.

Living in Thailand the urge to get a tan went many years ago. . I do get a bit browned off sometimes after reading certain publications. But a couple of beers or G and Ts I'm soon put to rights.😉

Like there are 50 shades of gray between black and white, there luckily is something similar between pale and red – I'm neither pale or red, I'm in one of the 50 other possible shades...:whistling:
