Bannork - IF that's true it's bloody silly of course and one for DT to tackle, (to get him doing something useful LOL).

'Gay' is a great word and it has fallen into disuse for general purposes as a casualty of PC nonsense. (I enjoyed OMD's track of the same name - perhaps the song should be rewritten, 'Enola Tibbetts').

I confess to being GAY, I'm quite a happy fellow, (straight though). And GAIETY is important in life IMO. ATB

Should have known Dr Evil would return. when will the Alan Parsons Project re-emerge?

Alan Parsons was brilliant music, and it was real music, unlike the electronic garbage that pretends to be music in these sad days.

That's right TBL. And at the Koffe House, Chantaburi, the resident Band will play the 9 minutes of 'Eye in the Sky' when asked nicely. The Alan Parsons Project were brilliant, I agree.

Yes well done NASA and SpaceX

I'm sure everyone will be delighted at the Astronauts return, including Bannork of course.

The core point in this thread was spot on.

Musk can be as constructive in his Companies as he is DESTRUCTIVE in the political arena.

So he should get back to his Companies, including the ailing Tesla.

To me, there are some rather funny aspects of the whole "Tesla boycott" saga.

First, Tesla is an American company that employs over 120,000 Americans. Second, Musk doesn't own it- his share is less than 13%. The majority of shares are owned by, you guessed it, American fund management companies. So they are not hurting Musk at all, but rather hurting innocent countrymen.

And finally, the irony of boycotters going on Musk's social media platform to crow about boycotting Musk's car company. Generating clicks and revenue for him while beating their pigeon chests in rage.

It is to laugh.

I'm sure there are a not insignificant number of people that would like the astronauts to die in a fiery disaster if it hurt Musk and by extension Trump.

These people are deranged.

When the government contracts Musk to retrieve astronauts from a space station, or to install satellites into orbit or to provide internet service, the left calls it subsidies.

Hanaguma - in the wider perspective, Musk's political clowning has alienated customers and potential customers around the World and in the USA itself - that's undeniable.

Tesla sales are collapsing and the Cybertruck has been banned in many Countries on road safety grounds, (they also have problems with panels detaching from the body).

You trawl around to find an upside but Musk needs to get back to the office and try to sort Tesla out ! There may be irony revenue from critical 'hits' on his social media but that $ will be peanuts against his Tesla losses. Which will inevitably worsen 😗

So screw the millions of Americans who have invested, either directly or indirectly, into Musk Inc?  I am sure hard liners would say "divest!" but that is difficult to do when the shares are held by ETFs and holding companies.

I won't say anything as to the quality of Tesla cars, I really don't have an opinion on them one way or the other. Not my area of expertise. But the virtue signalling of the mob has little to do with the product or the company and a lot to do with the simplistic, reflexive "MAGA BAD" shibboleth.  If Musk had stayed a Democrat and supported Harris in the 2024 election, this would not be happening.

I wouldn't know about that but it should be too hard to find where you praised Donald Trump, the Reality TV star.

Hanaguma - very strange reply . . .

The reason I argue that Musk should get back to Tesla, is precisely for the concerns you expound. Tesla is an important USA Company, facing serious issues. They need their 'CEO' to be there to save/stabilise/take it forward.

You say blah blah ' this would not be happening' if. What's this - you say - the Public Worldwide are on a 'reflexive' or a 'shibboleth' ? I don't think you can defend Tesla's situation Worldwide by talking about that ! It's the public reputation of his product because of his Political antics, poor quality aspects in the cars and the fact that Chinese cars, have overtaken him. So he should manage the Tesla Company and leave Politics.

AIMHO of course . . .

I guess as some kind of financial genius, a 50% drop in sales in your most important markets would not concern you. Or the fact the Chinese are making  cheaper alternatives of better quality, just like the Japanese and Koreans before them. Tariffs will fix all that, right?

I think the Chinese have Musk figured and built a car with a better battery. A case of my battery is bigger than yours !

And why should people who strongly disagree with Donald Trump keep on enabling the man who contributed almost $300 million to his campaign and promises to spend a lot to stop the opponents of Trump in the midterms? The man who is making slashing the Federal govt and yet who repeatedly demonstrates how ignorant he is of how that government works?

Musk isnt slashing the federal government. He doesnt have that power. DOGE can only make recommendations, which are followed or rejected. The fact that you think he has that power, though, suggests that the ignorant party is someone else...

But of course you can disagree with him, no question there. But the FORM of the disagreement is baffling and useless.  Injuring innocent Americans, possibly costing them jobs, and committing crimes are not valid criticism.

How willfully naive can you be? Doge has Trump's full backing. In a strongman system like that under Trump no one cares about technicalities. Musk has Trump's full throated and sleazy backing. And Trump knew that he was getting a fellow sociopath when he appointed Trump. Right down to the gratuitous cruielty of claiming that the people being let go had poor performance records  when that was blatantly false. And Musk wonders why he's loathed.

Another disingenuous comment from you. I was referring to the boycott of Tesla. Not violence directed at Tesla. . But when you make a point of repeatedly making hateful comments, you're going to get some dangerous people really angry. Why do he and Trump continually engage in so much nastiness?

But the basic reality remains - boycotting Tesla hurts innocent Americans far more than it hurts Musk.

California Man Charged With Felony for Vandalizing Tesla

Why is MAGA vandalizing Liberal's cars?

It's not like MAGA can afford luxury cars.

Maybe Musk can "find Jesus" and can flog them at churches or something.

Similar MSM marketing scheme as religion.

$400 a month for a car that you have ato give back after 4 years and you get nothing to show for it?!?

😀😃😄😁😆😅😂🤣😭
