Putin's 'reluctance to demobilise' could cause downfall and be rapid end to Ukraine war

Putin might not want the war in Ukraine to end because he is “afraid” of Russian veterans. Experts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said the Kremlin is concerned about a sudden influx of troops returning home.

The report said Russian officials see the demobilisation of Russian veterans - around 700,000 of them - “as a potential threat'.

Putin himself has portrayed his image as the only person who can keep Russians secure.

The spectre of thousands of convicted murderers and veterans with PTSD roaming Russia committing mayhem hopefully gives the Russian murderer sleepless nights.

Seems the ex KGB  should have thought about it a bit more before ....oh this was supposed to be over for the next day  days celebrations in  Kiev !

‘Keep Russia secure’? Lol. I mean, who was ever going to threaten it? It’s all bs so that ‘strong men’ be relative.

Basically he wants them all to be killed. The bloke is a nutter, but there are many in his shyster government that think he’s a wimp.

They didn't win, were mistreated by Tsarist officers, were starved, and then the Tsar asked to to fire on protestors. Petrograd saw soldiers mutiny and join factory workers on strike. Within a month, Tsar had lost all authority and the Romanov dynasty was no more. It started on the front, when soldiers refused to build more trenches, started selling off clothing supplies. Order No 1 of the Petrograd Soviet established Soldiers Committees in every unit.

Opposition to Putin has been growing everyyear; whatever support for him is paperthin. The Russian Army in 2021 had a significant professional element. That element has literally all gone. There are no proverbial homes fit for heroes. Even the bonuses are not being paid. Afghanistan tipped the Soviet regime. The Falklands tipped Galtieri. And Hitler was a disgruntled Corporal.

Thanks  seems a messy solution - nuclear weapons etc .Perhaps Trump's brokerage will work better this time though it seems bizarre to say it.

If Putin agrees to a 30 day ceasefire, of course both sides will take the opportunity to re-equip. I have no doubt Putin will seek to break it. Since 2014, there have been 25 ceasefires between Ukraine and Russia, and 25 times Russia has broken those ceasefires.

Details of 20 of those Ceasefires

If course, Putin will break the ceasefire.  He will make up a dumb manufactured reason and bombs away.

It is simple, Putin, like Hitler, wants to control Europe.  All of Hitler's non-aggression pacts just made it easier for Hitler to gain control of more and more of Europe.  The same will happen with Ukraine - a ceasefire gives Putin the change to regroup and prepare for attacks on western Europe.
