An altercation between a motorist and a rider in Sathorn, Bangkok has reached a peaceful resolution. The incident, circulating on social media, depicted a heated exchange between the rider, Bird, and the driver of a silver Honda Jazz, culminating in a minor collision. Both individuals have since clarified the misunderstanding and bear no ill will towards each other.

On 6th March, Bird, aged 43, and the car driver met at Thung Maha Mek Police Station. Bird explained that the dispute originated from a misunderstanding when the driver mistakenly thought him to be a criminal, though the specifics remain unclear. The driver had lowered his window to insult and spit at Bird, prompting Bird to retaliate in kind. This exchange led the driver to reverse into Bird’s vehicle, causing slight damage but no injuries.

Bird assured that no physical altercation took place, and the driver has apologised, agreeing to pay for the damage, a resolution Bird accepted without pursuing further legal action. A video misinterpretation was cleared up by Bird, who remarked that the car was stopped at a red light rather than running through it.

The driver confessed to his suspicion after noticing Bird following him for approximately 10 minutes, resulting in his defensive reaction, particularly due to having a woman and a dog in his car. Following their discussion, both parties resolved the issue amicably, with the driver committing to cover the repair costs.

Police Colonel Phanom Chueathong confirmed the incident was essentially a misunderstanding. Both participants received charges for causing a public disturbance, alongside fines. Subsequent to their discussion, Bird chose not to further pursue any legal actions regarding traffic matters, considering the agreed compensation satisfactory.

The police have underscored the necessity of maintaining composure on the roads, regardless of weather conditions. Ultimately, the resolution saw the two individuals sharing a motorcycle ride home, marking a harmonious end to their disagreement, reported The Thaiger.
