Alright, folks, let's talk dating app photos. Specifically, those heavily filtered ones.

Seriously, Am I  the only one noticing how some pics look like they belong in a sci-fi or a horror movie, not a dating profile? I get them wanting to look your best, but when there're unrecognizable and just look like a pigs wearing lip stick, it's just...disappointing.

Honestly, I'd almost prefer someone just be upfront or just lie about their ages and use a recent, unfiltered shot. At least then you know what you're getting.

Anyone else feeling this? Should dating apps have some kind of filter regulation? Or am I  just being am old-fart ? Let's hear your thoughts!

Surely one would do  a vid chat, before actually meeting in person.   Though TBH, I never did, but that was decades past, when not really available like it is today.   Though possible, but I just didn't bother.

Back in the day, when Yahoo Chat was a thing.  Just a current photo was enough, and actually needed, as they were picking my up at the airport when meeting.

Always assume that she's 5 to 10 years older, and 5 to 15 kilos heavier, and that the photo is 5 to 10 years old. This is why when friends ask me for advice I always recommend spending no more than a couple of hours of your time getting to know somebody online, before meeting them.

I know some guys that communicate with women that they've met online for months, sometimes years before meeting them. For me that just seems beyond the pale, where is the self-respect in that?

You don't know who she is until you actually meet her, and spend significant time with her.
