Clash Over Hampstead Heath: Dog Walkers and Gay Activists Battle Over Cruising Grounds

I used to live near in a gay neighborhood in Denver Colorado. When we went to walk in the park in the morning there were often used condoms littering the ground and I even got propositioned before by gay men.

Regardless of whatever I was told growing up my experience with gay men is that they're deranged sexual deviants. I think many of them were sexually abused as children even.

They really shouldn't be allowed to adopt boys or be in the boy scouts even if you ask me. Don't ask don't tell was a fair compromise I think but being opening gay needs to be red line for some spaces.

To be honest, that reads like you are the one with the unresolved issues.

Not Hampstead Heath, but relevant ...   The famous story goes that when Winston Churchill was Prime Minister, he was woken one freezing February morning by a Downing Street aide bearing the

The Police should patrol and arrest them under indecency laws. If they can't, or won't, then that it a hole in legislation that definitely needs plugging.

As the old saying goes, "Get a room!"

One for the "Doggers".

I can't say whether this is true, but according to the Mail, "It is not illegal to have sex in a public space. It becomes a criminal offence if it causes ‘alarm or distress’ to others."

Looks like this could be a slippery slope - they are coming for the gays now; next will be the doggers (if that is the correct term)...

The leafy Surrey enclave that's the al fresco sex capital of Britain with nearly 100 major dogging sites

Nah, they're an anti-LGBTQ+ organization so they'll be interested in one gay hookup site rather than hundreds of straight dogging sites.

Surrey is rife with this sort of thing. I remember the Shirley Hills goings on in the 90s. Lots of wife swapping apparently.

gay men who insist the practice is their "cultural right."

Is being homosexual now a 'culture' that gives you rights such as this?

Are you sure that you are on the right thread? West hater? Because I don't subscribe to your world view, I must hate my country? Get over yourself.

What's the issue I need to resolve?

The problem I have with these perverts is that they act like it's their right to be lewd in public because they belong to a particular group.

They are just dragging down the reputation of the LGBT community, whom I hope don't all agree with this type of demented public behaviour.

Yes, there are pervs in the straight community too, but they don't try to get immunity or special treatment.

Do you need a wife to participate or are single people able to join in ?

Not my milieu I'm afraid.

There's heathland at Shirley Hills and apparently they're having problems now with horny pensioners. Lol.

Hampstead Heath has been a traditional gay cruising spot for almost 100 years. Even the Daily Mail recognises "it's historic status as a cruising ground. "

I doubt whether it's used as much now with the advent of Grindr etc.

It's not asking for special treatment to carry on doing what you've done for years without being harassed by "Traditional Values" organizations..

The whole idea of cruising is to be discrete, so if it's being too overt then it becomes a problem and something needs to be worked out.

I have no idea. Speak to a therapist and show them your post to which I replied.
