You used a debit (ATM) card to purchase online? Fool. Only use credit cards. At least then you have some recourse.

Oh really?

I had no idea thankyou

Good news from Agoda is the "booking partner " has refused my request however as a goodwill gesture Agoda had given me the refund in credits

Thankyou Agoda

Great.  Now Agoda is going to pass the cost onto the rest of us who aren't Nervous Nellies and manage to complete dozens or hundreds of online Agoda transactions without issue.

Approximately 35 Million People a year use Agoda for their bookings...

This 899 baht 'additional cost' that Agoda are writing off out of good will is normal business practice.

But... If that doesn't convince you there is this...     the cost is  0.0000254 baht for each of Agoda's customers... (this year).

So...  even if this mistake was made 39,370 times, that would cost just one baht per customer which you could virtue signal and pee your pants about until your napkin gets too soggy - but everyone would still recognise your point is as pathetic as it is mathematically illiterate !!!
