Can you jump start a mc battery from a car?

Featured Replies

This is probably a stupid question but a mc (125cc)  battery seems dead as has not been used for a couple of months. Battery is not that old - less than 18 months.

I have heavy duty jump leads - can I use them on it from my truck?

Yes .... so long as it's a reasonably modern bike with 12v electrics.  Don't leave it connected to the truck for long as you could damage the battery.

But most 125's have a kick start or can be bump started.  And a better option is to charge the battery, but you'll need a bike specific charger or at least one with a low charging rate.

I would say you could if you don't start your truck engine (alternator not spinning} if the battery in your truck is

in good condition it should start.
