Because of our woke police hierarchy and woke judges, Brits can commit crime with little consequences. Hardly suprising that they think they can do the same here. I disagree though that the spotlight should be just on us Brits, there's plenty of misbehaviour from other nationalities here ie Swiss, French Moroccans, Kuwaitis, Germans, Chinese and Russians etc. Warning: snowflakes close your eyes - A dose of Singapore's corporal punishment would sort them out.

Ok. I was wrong.  Some European from wherever, Norway or Sweden, or Belguim or something recorded himself sneaking up behind and and kicking two teenage girls or young ladies in their backs as they were sitting in some stairs quietly talking to each other. It was despicable. I thought that is what you were referring to.

The source for this seems to be the little splurge of cases of British people trying to smuggle legal cannabis in Thailand, to Britain where it is illegal and therefore more expensive.

 

Because of the publicity, it’s made the British press and that has sparked a story in Thailand.

 

it’s fairly amateurish stuff, easily sorted by an uptick in sniffer dog activity at a few airports.

 

But, of course, journalism has to try to generate reader reaction and engagement, hence a lurid headline designed to do just that.

I'm a Brit on the tail end of a 60 day waiver. 

I'm starting to feel I've let the side down as I haven't done too much criminality apart from vaping and riding my bike without a helmet.

The story isn't about British tourists in general it is about the wrong type of tourists - criminals. No point in deflecting to point at Russians and Chinese who are caught in criminal acts (the "whatabout" syndrome) . If British criminals are caught, sling them in prison then kick them out of the country. Why get excited about it? It isn't insulting to honest Brits who visit Thailand without committing a crime.

Beat me to that one! No mention of any other nationalities where the "real" criminals seem to come from - Chinese triads, Russian mafia, Nigerian scammers etc etc.
