Beat me to that one! No mention of any other nationalities where the "real" criminals seem to come from - Chinese triads, Russian mafia, Nigerian scammers etc etc.

 

Seems that a handful of Brits caught at Samui Airport attempting to smuggle out cannabis are to blame for "an apparent uptick in criminal activities involving British nationals".

 

Priorities eh?

Lazy journalism akin to click bait. The British Embassy issued a report with the number of British arrested in 2024 as totalling 220, so the Journalist decided to do a story. Other than 2015/6 when 194 British were arrested, there are no other figures available hence “apparent uptick” Hardly a significant increase of 26 people from 7/8 years ago and for all the Journalist knows it could have actually decreased from 2023. 

 

The 220 only represent 1.5% of the total 14275 Foreigners arrested. If figures for Russian and Chinese arrests were available I suspect they would be significantly higher.

They used to hang out in Spain but then Brexit happened.

How can they really say that they don’t have specific numbers of the people that are breaking the laws. The headline in every article starts of with a Foreigner from _______ did________or was caught doing ________. Just read the news headlines and you will get pretty much an idea of where they are from and what they did.

We emptied the country of all our trash to Australia for 80 years.

But how you explain that Australia achieved wealth, great infrastructure, and functional country. On par with the UK, Germany ect Even though it was build by ex convict. How do you explain that ?

Who knows what they will come up with next?  They might coordinate databases between provinces like USA did with the states back in the 1980’s and perhaps even look up your TM30. 
 

Just kidding. I called the immigration hotline and gave them every detail of my passport and adress that I self reported, just for fun and they had no idea where I lived.  It’s a joke. No joke.  Big Joke.

Because the usual blaming of Israelis, Americans and Australians was last month. This month it is UK nationals. Next month, maybe it will be Germans.

That's all well and good as long as they investigate criminals from all countries.

Give it a rest. Less than 20% of the Australian population can trace heritage back to the deportees.  Australia is a great nation and its government has demonstrated much more integrity than alot of the inbred European barbarian nations.  You can enjoy the delights of Dianne Abbott, Jeremy Corbyn and Liz Truss.

I’m not British, so I could be wrong, but didn’t the British Embassy advise Brits to avoid travel to Thailand 2-3 weeks ago?  If my foggy memory serves me right, is a sudden crackdown targeting Brits some crazy coincidence?  
 

Sorry fellas, Thailand had to scapegoat somebody. I’m pretty sure if Thailand somehow magically deported every single Brit in Thailand, it would just make more room for the others and foreign crime would escalate. Not to say foreign crime is more rampant that Thai crime and corruption.
