She  was placed on hormones at the age of 16. This was only allowed once she had completed screening and therapy. The process was reversible. She reconfirmed her intent at the age of 20.

Did you review her medical file, and were aware of her  endocrinology and general physiology prior to the process? If  you did not, who then are you to  judge a decision taken by the patient, and her attending physicians and psychologists?

And yes, one has to be uneducated to not understand that each patient is unique and presents with their own characteristics.
