Even Chiang Mai, the tall condo building opposite central festival shows crack up every side and has been evacuated. Do folks that buy those highrise condos get earthquake insurance? If so has nay company paid off on a claim/claims? Just wondering seeing the cost and then the government condemns the bldg! -

Is America doomed
A friend of mine was looking at a condo in Miami Beach recently, and if he paid cash for it, the homeowners association fee and property taxes would be $4,500 per month. Insanity? A massive balloon filled with helium, on the verge of explosion? An economy that could not be sustained in the long term? Many of us think so. And many of the economic policies of the creep are only making America weaker, less influential and less dynamic. Woe is America. -

Who's still thinking of buying a high rise condo after the earthquake?
How many of the buildings that have structural damage will actually be reported? The reinforcement of buildings is extremely expensive who is going to pay for it? Would not be surprised if there are a number of problems in the months, years ahead for some of these high rises.
