The Azure hotel will have breakfast at that time and parking.

Note Coffee opens up at 7, but it's down on Beach Road.

 

The earliest is Continental Bakery, at... I think 5 am... coming up...

So basically what this thread is saying is - if you want the exact same breakfast that is served at almost every bar in the city - just go to any bar in the city.

Because almost every breakfast shown was the exact same thing.

2 eggs. 2 weiners or pieces of boiled sandwich ham, 2 pieces of usually cold toast with nearly frozen butter, maybe some baked beans and a stewed tomato or two. And a cup of gahd-awful instant coffee.
I've seen the same thing served in dozens of bars, pubs, guesthouses and restaurants in the city.

Jolly's seemed to be the only one with any variety.

Friends of mine have a large bar on Soi Buakhao. They used to serve the "cheapie" breakfast (2 eggs, 2 weiners, 2 toast and a coffee). Thy seems to think most of their customers couldn't afford more.
I pointed out a couple places nearby that were serving larger breakfasts for a few baht more and a month later, they were doing the same.

I asked why they used weiners instead of pork sausages (and sandwich ham instead of bacon). 
Cost.
Weiners and sandwich ham are much cheaper and most of their customers apparently don't want to pay "extra".

I always liked the breakfasts at Tigglebitties. A bit more expensive than the breakfasts you get in all those bars, but they are also a lot better.

Lemon tree naklua used to be ok for a cheap but decent breakfast. The service from Noi was always good but during a recent trip lemon tree is still there but they said Noi has moved on

Whereas that is my favorite breakfast, they're not all the same. And it's not what I ALWAYS get.

Jolly's DID have a good variety, but Continental has a big variety too including Kippers. Dynamite Sports Lounge has some interesting takes on their breakfasts as well. 

 

Maybe after this initial pass through I'll do features on each one's breakfast menu variety. Might be interesting.

Yeah, I like their breakfast too. There I've usually gotten their pancakes...

The original (as far as I know) 99 baht full breakfast many years ago before Simon moved and opened up Retox in Soi Lengkee....(Retox eventually folded during Covid although Lengkee closed before Soi Diana)

 

How much is it now?

Breakfast is so easy to make at home and much better.  Do expats really go out regularly and eat breakfast. They wouldn't know an over easy eggs style. Cold toast, frozen butter, instant coffee. 

 

Is this what retirement looks like?  Making videos of crappy breakfast spots? Maybe GeorgieG is right after all.

That sounds more like the crappy inclusive (American, or so called) breakfast most cheaper hotels include in the price.  Many search for what I would call an English one in the bars, where proper sausage, freshly cooked eggs and maybe some black pudding and a slice get included. Then there is the buffet breakfast offered by better hotels, but silly items like salad and rice slop are offered too.

Cheap breakfasts (below 200 baht) are not worth the money. Better spend the 200 baht at a 7/11.

 

The only ok breakfasts for me are the 300-400 baht buffet breakfasts of some hotels. They're not gorgeous breakfasts though, this is Thailand.

Thanks Kerryd, that should be good info for anyone who likes that food.  I wouldn't have known that about pubs, but never been in any Thai bar.

 

  That weekly, sometimes daily question, can be answered with 2 words, "any pub" has your PROPER ENGLISH BREAKFAST. Fly 6000 km to eat the same food you have/had at home.  SMH

I totally agree . You get what you pay for .  In my ladies restaurant a small breakfast is 150 baht and large 200 . The large sets you up for the day . 80 or 99 baht breakfast ? how ridiculous . How can they be making a profit when you factor in the overheads ?

Went back and was checking out some of my earlier breakfast videos from last year! (May 2024)

Late breaking news on Soi Honey becoming a One Way!

That 99 Baht Breakfast is now 119 Baht.... it's still very good!
