I have been pulled when my sons set up their own Membership on my PC, same IP address, same browser etc etc. So how does Bob, or anyone else, get away with it?

I'm not the most tech savvy, but I guess he likely uses a VPN. I have one too but I don't know the ins and outs of them. Just that they change my location.

Well, you might finally solve your identity crisis there, Bob.

We know that you are "Bob" etc. etc. and not "I am not Bob you lemon" which would be a stupid new name even for you.

Several sources, such as travel blogs, news articles, and forums (e.g., Skeptics Stack Exchange, Quora, Thaiger, and others), mention this no underwear rule. They often cite historical decrees or cultural norms rather than a specific, current law. Here’s what the sources suggest:

Historical Context:

Some sources point to a decree from January 15, 1941, during the era of Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram, which mandated that "Thais should not appear in public, populous places, or municipal areas without proper clothing." This included prohibitions on appearing in public wearing only underwear or no shirt. However, this decree and other similar cultural mandates were reportedly repealed by 1944, according to historical accounts like "Fall of the Phibun Government, 1944" (page 117).

Current Legal Framework:

The Thai Penal Code, particularly Section 388, addresses "indecent acts" in public, which includes "shamelessly exposing oneself or committing other indecent acts." The penalty for violating this section is a fine of up to 500 Baht. While this section could theoretically be interpreted to include not wearing underwear if it results in indecent exposure, there are no documented cases of people being prosecuted specifically for not wearing underwear under their outer clothing. The law focuses more on overt public nudity or behavior that offends public morality.

You emphasise it even though there is no such law making non-wearing of underwear illegal.

Best you contact The Thaiger and get them to retract this:

5. It is against the law in Thailand to “go commando.” It is actually illegal to go in public without underwear in the Kingdom. It’s the law. If you do, you could (theoretically) wind up in jail.

I have no need to contact The Thaiger, my response was to your repeated comments that it is an offence.  Perhaps you should contact The Thaiger.

It's apparently illegal to be out in public without underwear (or to drive without a shirt) :whistling:

Police stopped us a long time ago and told me to put my shirt on.

Also turn lights on in the daytime is a nono.

Some cars do that automatically eg Volvos.

Turning lights on in the daytime, or without a shirt are the least dangerous driving offences on these roads.

We are still at the beach resort waiting for the wedding to commence on Friday night..

Just before lunch time I drove to a 7/11 to grab a couple of cold ones as I refuse to pay inflated hotel prices, when I was stopped by a BIB at a police checkpoint.

I was on a rented bike and the cop asked to see my license. I showed him my Thai motorbike license, to which he seemed a tad angry about, but there was nothing he could do but let me go on my way..

I was about to drive off when he grabbed my arm and said 'wait a minute, my friend. Are you wearing underpants?'

Stunned I replied, 'of course I am, do you want to see?'

He laughed and said 'No thanks, have a good day....'

Quite possibly the strangest interaction I have ever had with a Thai in my life.

The Don.

Bob, you actually went from running up and down the beach with your shirt off, and your tits swinging around, smashing up against the locals, to immediately riding a motorcycle with no pants on and your ball bag slapping all about.

You realize, if you just put some clothes on before you went outside, you wouldn't be having any of these problems and we wouldn't have to be reading any of your posts whining about all your public nudity run-ins with local law enforcement.

If you need us to buy you some clothes, then just say so. We are here for you and are happy to help. No need to be beating around the bush, or even the bung hole for that matter.

Imagine the videos from horrified Thais on Facebook if people simply dropped their pants whenever a cop asks about whether they are wearing underwear.

Could start a trend.

If arrested would that stand up in court?
