Georgealbert Posted yesterday at 08:46 PM Posted yesterday at 08:46 PM Picture and CCTV courtesy of Khaosod A 39-year-old British man has been arrested following a violent outburst in Phuket on Thursday, April 4. The suspect, named only as Mr. George, allegedly tried to rob from a local convenience store, attempted to open a motorcycle seat, and physically attacked the store’s owner. The incidents began at around 07:05, when the suspect parked his motorcycle outside the shop in Thalang District. The owner of the store, Warin Dokbua, 51, said that he had never seen the man before and was unaware of his presence in the area. According to Warin, the suspect had been involved in previous altercations before arriving at his shop. Surveillance footage from the store shows Mr. George attempting to force open the seat of a three-wheeled motorcycle parked outside. When he failed, he reportedly ran into the store’s kitchen, grabbed a knife, and tried to cut wires in an attempt to remove the seat. Warin described the man as appearing intoxicated or under the influence of some substance. “He wouldn’t listen when I tried to stop him and physically attacked me,” he said. “He even threw a bottle of petrol at me from the front of the store.” The situation escalated as the suspect try to flee the scene and pushed a family off a motorcycle. After the violent spree, Warin filed a report at Thalang Police Station. Officers later seized the motorcycle the suspect had been riding, which was found to have been stolen from the Saku Police Station jurisdiction, adding a further charge to the case. Phuket Immigration police detained the British man on April 4. Authorities have stated that communication with the suspect has been difficult due to his unstable mental state. He has been placed in a controlled environment to calm down before being formally questioned. Following this, he will be transferred to Thalang Police Station to face criminal charges. -- 2025-04-06 ScreenRecording_04-05-2025 16-55-38_1.mp4 7 2
Popular Post DonniePeverley Posted yesterday at 09:00 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 09:00 PM Christ ... there was a small child on that bike that he pushed over. Ask yourself would this guy behaved this way in Singapore or Dubai? Why does he feel it's okay to behave like this in Thailand? The Thai's on a whole are decent people. I am aware that tourism is important to the country. But when you open up your borders to literally everyone without any checks and balances, when your policing is soft for fear of offending tourism, when you allow long term stay for foreigners who cannot afford it which invevitably leads to working illegally or crime - you are asking for trouble. The level of drug taking i have seen around Thailand is astonishing. There was a time these places were seen as big no no's to narcotics. This isn't helping. There should be checks and balances. The level of horrid cheap tourism in Thailand is a disgrace and is turning away quality tourists. At the same time inevitbly it's going to lead to a backlash from locals who are not used to this brutish Benidorm Brit behaviour. 2 1 1 5

Popular Post PomPolo Posted 22 hours ago Popular Post Posted 22 hours ago I am genuinely embarrassed to be British this morning after seeing that, I want to get hold of him for 10 minutes and let him try the same on me. Attacking Thai people who are our hosts in this country should just not be tolerated obviously there will always be disagreements between foreigners and locals but this scenario looks like the farang kicked everything off, then the most despicable thing pushing the family off the motorbike even with the lady holding a small baby she looked terrified rightly so. This is one of the scenarios where a gang beating would have been well deserved and made me happy. I hope they throw the book at him and he gets a lengthy blacklist from the county after serving a bit of time in the monkey house and not allowed to buy his way out of it, we do not need his type here. It isn’t just these incidents that get reported every week in the Thai news. It is also the tone that a lot of us speak to and put down Thais, while not illegal I find it jarring. It is common on this forum also, constant negativity towards Thais and snide sarcastic put downs. It is ugly. 1 1 1 2

jimgilly Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago This is getting too common as another nitwit Brit is caught acting like a complete out of control moron and endangering the local public. The more these incidents happen the more negative attitudes the locals will have on expats in general, so these crazies need to be arrested, spend some time in the pokey and then sent back to where they come from. End of story. 1 1
DonniePeverley Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago We know what's going to happen. He'll pay a little fine and most likely that will be the end of it. No wonder then Thai's feel like taking the law into their own hands. Such is the fear of 'offending tourism' and not to make any headline they have literally allowed the country to fester in very bad behaviour from visitors. Dubai and Singapore will often make sensational headlines for their hard crackdown on tourists when they behave appalling, but they accept any headlines. When you allow in millions of visitors into your country you must police them responsibly to allow the law abiding to enjoy themselves, and most importantly to protect locals (ironically these Brits demand this in their own country from foreigners). And the end result is the people love it, because it creates a safe place for people to come and enjoy. At the moment the reputation of Thailand is suffering with these horrific videos on social media of badly behaved tourists. You do not see this behaviour of 'drunken Benidorm Brits' in Dubai or Singapore. The state will not tolerate it. They need to send a message to some of these tourists who behave this way - so word gets around. Ignore the short term headlines, and think of the long term well being of the country. I remember back in the 90's you would see massive messages on 'no drugs' into Thailand, and it worked. Now you openly have facebook message groups talking about raves and drugs on Thai islands. What on earth has happened? I honestly believe alot of this poor behaviour is as a result of being on some form of narcotic. This guy looks like he is on something, the girl dancing after her car flipping looks like she was on something too. It's just on and on - but it could end up really hurting someone, they aren't innocent crimes. The country seems to have been so effected by covid and that time without tourism, that it has essentially willing to accept any poor behaviour from anyone, it has destroyed the beauty of the country - which were the hospitable Thai culture, relatively safe place to come and enjoy (as opposed to the Phillippines or other regions). Thailand has been infested with 'Benidorm Brits' (i say that in jest as their are other tourists who are just as bad). Fake social media videos enticing them to come to Thailand, the crack down in spain on these sorts of visitors means Thailand is catching alot of them . These are the exact kind of tourists Thailand should seek to avoid. The treatment towards locals is awful. This all builds up into a resentment from locals that you need to be careful about. Go see headlines in Spain, Italy, Croatia, France, Greece about locals having had enough of the behaviour of these tourists. There should be an immediate clamp down on this behaviour. No tolerance. Visa rules must change too. The sheer volume on these easy visas long term is a disgrace - it's just basically an open border immigration policy now. No wonder many are calling Thailand the new Benidorm. 1
Johnlkuk Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago My question is: Did he arrive in Thailand in this mental state, or has his condition deteriorated from staying so long? 1

Mason45 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago All free visas should cease and all tourists wishing to travel to Thailand must get a Thai visa in their countries before they even get on a plane. This will never happen as all that matters here is the amount of money these trouble makers spend. The thing is that the law makers all live in the exclusive parts of Bangkok and couldn't care less about behavior in tourist areas as long as the money is rolling in. 1

Dubai makes billions from tourism and avoids any issues. Singapore makes billions avoids any issues. Same with Barbados, Aruba, many Caribbean states. Soft touch policing and enforcement is the issue. It's got nothing to do with social media. I've been in Thailand so long, that i have noticed over the past couple of years there has been a huge change in the type of tourist arriving, and secondly the changing ugly behaviour of these visitors - absolute horrid they are. It coincides with relaxed drug laws, and the removal of all visa restrictions. 1 1
