Not under the current Woke Gestapo that is running the NHS.

I can't imagine this type of thing will help the recruitment needed.

Because it's definitely a virtue in a nurse not to avoid antagonizing a patient.

What do the work instructions say?

She was instructed by her supervisor to do certain things and she refused. The trans part is irrelevant.

This sort of stuff is just ludicrous and getting way out of control. Why can't you call and orange an orange... erm no, because it's a deviant banana. Never heard such rubbish. So glad I bailed from the UK because saw the writing on the wall... awful place to live now.

Agreed , a low paid job for immigrants usually. Womans work.
Nobody in their right minds would do it if they had other options.

One of the things that has impressed me in private hospitals in Thailand is they obviously employ the nurses based on looks.
Nothing better than waking up from an operation, still half drugged out and being taken care of by a hot Asian nurse.

Exactly the sort of mindless attitude that has led to some of the worst atrocities in human history.

While I find it ridiculous that she got fired over this, where exactly does it say in the Bible that using preferred pronouns for a transsexual person is against Christianity?

I f*cking hate it when those religious nutcases have to bring their believes into everything ,

Is there a mainstream religion whose belief system affects so many aspects of their daily life as Islam? I'm not sure, let me look into it in more depth and if I am wrong I will do my best to report back and I will be sure to apologize profusely for my assumption about the group you were referring to.

She didn't judge him.

She used biological reality in her assessment and subsequent description of him. Kind of important for a nurse I would imagine.

Your knowledge of biology is as limited as your attitude.

You missed my point The challenge that England has is that there is no one that has the ability to say enough is enough.

Do you really see an English party that is willing to put their money where their mouth is.

alertness to racial prejudice and discrimination

“Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) originally meaning alertness to racial prejudice and discrimination. Beginning in the 2010s, it came to encompass a broader awareness of social inequalities such as racial injustice, sexism, and denial of LGBT rights.

Good thing you're not a nurse. Don't think you would last long in that profession which is what this is about.

Expand

Not many would nowadays. One of the requirements ( not stated in the nice booklets encouraging the gullible to become nurses ) is to tolerate vast amounts of abuse while doing the job.

On my training course there was another male that had previously been a banker, decided to help people rather than exploit them. He lasted about a month before he'd had enough of the managerial abuse. Being punished for some minor infraction by being told to clean the bed pans by hand was the final straw, and he went back to banking.

BTW, the worst abusers in my experience during training were not females, but males that had become managers.

Believe it or not, by the time I decided to give it a go the situation had improved, but hardly enough. Classes for nurses in the 60s used to start with about 50 students, and were soon reduced to a fraction of that number once reality set in.

You know little about it. Medicine is chocka with people judging others. They just don't normally do so within the hearing of the judged.

I experienced a case where an abused child came onto the ward and all the female staff decided the father did it because he looked unusual, but it wasn't him doing the abuse- it was the mother.
